Default CF air intakes

So I was looking at some of the CF air intakes on Ebay and wondering if anyone uses them? I run the K&N cold air intakes and have read that because of the heat of the motor you lose some HP because of the heat so I was thinking of buying a set of the carbon fiber dual air ducts that you install just above the bumper. I have a 2013 and thinking of buying a set and installing them. Does anyone here use them? I like the looks but would like to see them in better photos? Thoughts

I suggest that you stay with the long tube CAI proven performers like Stillen or Z1.

All cai's will heat soak at an idle. It's when you are moving that the long tubes cool off. The short rams will still suck hot air from under the hood.

I bought an Injen CAI and even thou it wasn't as easy to install since they provide you with a new windshield washer reservoir and you have to remove the pump and place it on the new reservoir which takes some time and care not to damage it. I love the look and sound....

Do they really pop the hood and look for long tubes?

I could have sworn Stillen long tubes were CARB legal?

Edit - Just checked. It's legal.

I have the Z1 long tubes, DEI gold-wrapped, and my intake temps are a consistent 7 degrees above outside ambient when the Z is moving.

When you are idling in traffic. The temps go up on all. The shorties more then the long tubes. Once you start moving. The long tubes will cool off quicker then the shorties. For the shorties. All of the heat under the hood has to be gone before they start to cool down. Unless their inlets are close to the factory openings in the rad support.

OP needs that custom CF intake like a Wrangler's snorkel.
