That is the price for the aerodynamic package on the base model coupe.

I wanna apologized if I sounded like I'm flaming you, but I'm not, I just thought why you'd want just a spoiler. like others stated, the rims itself it's pretty much worth the money, those are Rays Engineering wheels. And they're sweet too for stock wheels. Plus brakes, vlsd, SRM, much much more. Overall it's just a great decision and if dealer agreed to refund you the difference then your all good. Again apologizing if I sound like I'm flaming ya, just other out there would love to have sports package on their base model Z's.

Wow, some of you guys can be quick off the draw on some people...makes me even a bit gun-shy to reply here but...
The OP, a female (pertinent), posted some information about how she got the car she got and what she was told she would get. Apparently, they weren't the same thing, and like most dealers I've ever dealt with, one has to wonder if she was mislead on purpose or through stupidity on behalf of the sales staff. Either way, it's their mistake, not hers. And while I realize the dealership is "going to make it right" by retro-fitting a spoiler of choice, I can't help but wonder if she wasn't taken advantage of because she is a female (happens ALL the time). Whether you agree or not, the OP had certain preferences about the car she wanted and whether or not you agree with them, the spoiler was one of the main reasons for plopping down the extra money. She didn't get it because of an honest mistake or direct lying. I would be irritated if that sort of thing was done to me as well. So, AK posted some photos (photos ALWAYS good) and there was some other good advice about a spoiler on a roadster... . But some of the other replies...

but yeah! If only stock spoiler fit the roadster.... now after reading some of the posts, I decided to just install the spoiler they offer me, but from my knowledge, there's no spoiler out for Z roadster yet. but salesperson keep telling me there's really nice one straight from japan that cost $4000 USD. they are willing to install that one for me. but did not tell me the name of the spoiler... are they just f*ckin around with me cuz im a girl??? or is there spoiler like that in japan? mind as well just take extended warranty...??? |

Bad on you for not being educated before plopping down $40K on a car. After looking at the Nissan site for 3 minutes, it's pretty clear the sports package doesn't come with a spoiler. I don't even see any offered. I'd trust the literature before a salesman any day of the week
Bad on the dealer for blowing smoke up your @$$ and saying they want to install a $4000 spoiler. That is total bull. But, they seem to be trying to fix the issue for you. Not to sound like a **** (I know, I already do sound like one, but not taking personal responsibility and allowing yourself to get "screwed" is a pet peeve of mine), being a woman is no excuse for not knowing exactly what you are buying when you sign the dotted line. |

Unlike the 2010 Coupe the 2010 Roadster is not all that new. The full features and specs went public on 4/7/2009. This information even included pictures and guess what? No spoiler. On 7/13/2009 pricing for the Roadsterwent public with specs, pictures and guess what? No spoiler. Not even a dealer install option for a spoiler. So after 6+ months I think the dealer and sales people should know whats up. I think it really shows that this dealer whants happy customers and they are covering for a sales person first day on the job mistake.

if i got a roadster i would go without a spoiler. can the motor even handle additional weight when you collapse the canvas? does the spoiler even clear the rear bumper area when it opens for the canvas? not sure...but areas you might want to check into prior to install.
honestly, i would ask them for a quick $300 refund or something for their mistake and call it a day. |

I doubt any of the coupe spoilers will fit on the Roadster without some modifications to it. It sounds like the dealer is trying to make up for it, and if you ask me, they sound really sorry and are doing what they can, and you seem to want to punish them like they killed your dog or something. I'm not sure what the Sport Pkg comes with in the Roadsters, but it is very much worth it for the coupe (bigger wheels, better tires, upgraded brakes, front chin spoiler, rear spoiler, SRM, and LSD). That totals to a lot more that 3k if bought separately. This dealer sounds like a keeper to me, but only if they come through for you. I say give them a chance, you may find a better spoiler and be happier in the end.
