I know this item has been discussed to death but I would like to give a drag racing analogy / example on reaction time. Im an old guy but in my prime I ran a 1967 Pro ET GTO in bracket racing for years. So to show how reaction time helps get you moving faster here is a scenario.
Erica Enders "Pro stock driver" is known for her very fast and consistent starting line leaves.
She lines up next to car driver X. For argument sake both cars run 7.00 second quarter mile times. They line up at the starting line tree and reaction times are measured in thousands of a second. Driver X leaves on the yellow with a .040 reaction time. He runs a 7.00 second et. Erica has a reaction time of .030 and runs the same of 7.00 seconds. Because she left earlier by 10 one thousands of a second she crossed the finish line first which is known as a hole shot win. Yes this is people's reaction time but if your throttle reaction time is a tenth of a second slower than say a cable operated throttle your car will react slower to say a 0 to 60 second time.

Well said. Plus, the feeling of a better responding throttle (vs the muted stock Z throttle response) is huge in this car, even for a daily driver. SB is a great budget option for those that can't spend the money on a tune.

In the end, you're talking about hundredths of a second. I'm not saying it doesn't matter. But it probably doesn't matter for most people

If car is not tuned you will love it.You are correct about throttle.

With a good tune you will not need.

Yes I agree with you. I will want to do more mods and a tune but I worry about Nissan obsesion on mods nullifying the warranty. The car is brand new, when warranty is done "if I still have the car" I will definitely tune and dyno it.

Started life as a 340, then a 440, then a 572 RB block. Was in the process of getting all the parts together for a 2G Hemi. Had all the parts but for a block. Then I was made an offer that I couldn't refuse for the Hemi parts.

Since I bought the Sprint unit I have been having more fun driving the car. I have not tried the Race mode but in sports, there is such a difference in the settings on how you drive and my way of driving has not changed. I almost spun the tires on setting "Sports 9". I drive in my town and do not want to draw attention or should I say more attention since I already get stares from just having a "clean" Z. If tomorrow I decide to sell the car, I can just unplug it. Can I undo the tuning once is done "for free" or do I need to open my wallet again. Thanks , this is a legit question.

With a EcuTek tune you can simply re-write the stock map onto the ecu.

Not sure why you would want to remove the tune in order to sell the car, but, as per BettyZ, you should be able to reflash your stock tune (assuming you saved it before tuning).

Your tuner may also send you a stock map. I know Seb did for me.
