This probably comes from tight budgeting constraints. I seriously doubt the Z staff are content with this release. But they probably did the best they could with the extremely limited freedom they had.
The meeting probably went something like this: "Alright team. It's the 50th anniversary of the Z. Let's celebrate with a commemorative edition! Ideas?" (Various ideas are shared) "Thank you for the input. I forgot to mention, the finance team graciously allocated $50 to make this special Z happen." It's not the worst deal if you insist on a new Z, but don't want a Nismo. For $2,600, your getting this: 19" x 9.0" front and 19" x 10.0" rear 50th Anniversary Edition forged alloy wheels by RAYS® 50th Anniversary Edition side marker decal 50th Anniversary Edition unique exterior graphics 50th Anniversary Edition exterior badging 50th Anniversary Edition tachometer 4-way power, 4-way manual adjustable driver's seat 4-way power adjustable passenger's seat 50th Anniversary Edition leather-appointed seats with synthetic suede inserts 50th Anniversary Edition unique interior stitching 50th Anniversary Edition interior badging 50th Anniversary Edition leather-wrapped shift knob 50th Anniversary Edition Alcantara®/Leather-wrapped steering wheel Deletes Front Chin Aero Deflector and Rear Spoiler Last edited by Bay Area Z; 05-10-2019 at 09:26 PM. |

Why can't we get a F'n OIL COOLER instead of this garbage?!
Is it a liability issue with running the lines, so they don't want to offer one that actually works? This is likely my last Nissan product, after watching SavageGese's video on the Q60 redsport and seeing the mickey mouse adhesive application + exposed wires on a $65k car = no thanks. Nissan is just lazy/greedy/unimaginative and expects us to pay an additional $20k to get that VR30 turbo, when, as everyone has said here: should be in the Z. |
