First Winter for the 370z
So, its the first winter for the 370z in my part of the world. Its cold and its snowing and the roads are too frozen over for me to take mine out (no im not a wuss check this out;-
) Seriously though how is it for you? How does the 370z feel in the snow? Does the DSG gearbox make a difference? Cheers |

I sold my POS truck (1997 Ranger I4 5M 2WD) and bought a new 2010 Frontier SE V6 4x4. I'll use that when it's below 40F
Above that, I might use the Z. Or I might use my truck. Or I might use my motorcycle. Driving the Z in winter is insane. It's marginally better than driving a mustang, and significantly worse than driving a 10yr old vehicle that's better suited to snow (SUV, Truck mainly...AWD/FWD cars if they have decent ground clearance). For the cost of snoeshoes and wheels for the Z, you could have a cheap vehicle that you would be better off with in winter. As for me, I opted to put my old truck to pasture, and get a new truck. New truck is of course way better than old truck, but, old truck was just fine in winters...and liability-only insurance made it cheap to own... Last edited by kannibul; 01-07-2010 at 09:18 AM. |

Videos are hilarious. It snowed here pretty good a few months back, roads iced up. Had I not driven rwd cars in Ohio before, I woulda been SOL, I'd say put a good set of Blizzaks on it and stay in a high gear at all times. I remember when i was stationed in Germany, me and a few friends went to London to watch Arsenal play Everton at Highbury, the roads were stupid, do they even salt them?

Cheers Vipor for sorting out the video!
Yeah, thats half the problem here in the Uk (No not just the shocking drivers) we are hideously ill prepared for cold whether, let alone snow! The roads are all iced up and worse still, the kinda salt we use on the roads do very little to make it drivable. I just seems to rust our cars. At the moment the quickest way around is walking but when it all thaws out i think the 370z might be interesting! |

I'm driving my Z in the snow with some winter rims and Blizzaks. So far it handles great. Sure someone else may hit me, but at least I'm secure with front and side airbags. We're getting 10-13 inches today. Made it to work without any issues. Hoping for the same back home.

And for the record......you don't have a DSG/PDK transmission. You have a conventional planetary gear style tranny. The DSG/PDK are dual output shaft transmissions (simplified explanation)
