The Z Roadster will become an one of a kind....
https://www.motorauthority.com/news/...ead-after-2019
This is a bad news for the Z... and for the roadster category.... |
I think it's a move in the right direction. The entire Z34 lineup needs to be discontinued.
|
I hope the Z doesnt go into hibernation for 15 years, then gets reincarnated as a Mercedes badged as a Nissan. |
Yes, it is said but true that Nissan will not be producing the Roadster Z any more it does not make any sense since the Roadster Z is very popular a specially among Z enthusiasts. I am thankful that Nissan will be continuing to produce the Z model in 2020 thank you Nissan.

I dont think its just the Z34 going away, there havent been any leaks for a Z35, so....

Who knows what direction Nissan is going with sports cars.New models or no models? |
I just picked up a 2020 370z Sport Coupe yesterday.
A funny story behind ordering it, is that they ordered a roadster by mistake and had to place a second order for my car. They now have a 2020 roadster sitting on there lot. I spoke to the salesman and he confirmed the vin says it is "L" (2020). The article seems tp make it sound like they are not offering it for the 2020 model year. I can confirm without a doubt that they are. I saw it with my own eyes!:p Also, they have it listed on the Canadian Nissan website. I told the salesman he has quite the handy sales pitch available to him now! "Buy the very last roadster version of the 370z. It is now a collectors item" |

Z has had so few changes in the last few years that over time I doubt it will matter. Not like they dropped a V8 in for the last year. Car collectors 20 years from now will be looking for well maintained, low milage, original Roadsters. I do not think year will matter that much. |
looks like it's going to turn itself into another S2000
|
The Z35? Jesus will return before Nissan launches a new Z! Amen.
|
Meh, good riddance
|
I never liked the look of the roadster.
I traded my Z Saturday for a Mazda, a week after putting the Z1 CSC elimination kit into it after the 2nd clutch failure. The Miata RF gts I got is an amazing machine. Not quite as fast as the Z, but there is something magic about this tiny car. |

although we always complain about the Z's been a 10 years old car with very very minor update, however, we also, always appreciate the Z being a sports car with raw control and drivability.
Sometimes, I think it is good to keep the Z as is, as raw. If there's ever a new Z, it might comes with all those electronic gadgets, a turbo with a small 4-banger. In that case, I really rather keeping the current Z. Back to the Z roadster, I feel bad about it because it is a good convertible, good value, there's not many roadster/convertible in this kind on the market. With the discontinuing of Z roadster, it means the consumers has less choice in this category. |

Update:
the sales of the Z Roadster will still be available in Canada  https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a2...ontinued-2020/ |
seems like the Great White north likes the roadster more than down south.
I am keeping my almost 10 year old roadster,,, just like its raw power and handling, to me its like keeping a much more comfortable MGB lol |

Been always hearing "it's fun" "doesn't matter if it's not fast" etc and as worn-out as those comments sound, they're so true. The RF, albeit heavier, is icing. I personally like the option of having a solid roof over my head. |
that is probably a true statement for all the manual gearbox miata's.
