Front aero deflector...Keep on or off?
Ok I had the car for a week now, but when I pull out of driveways the deflector keeps getting scratched (mainly the ones right in front of the wheels) and im considering taking them off. How much do these parts actually help with the aerodynamics of the car if any and I was just wondering what others had done with them.
|
Mine scraped too with my steep driveway but I just pull in at an angle and it's fine. I just put the aero deflector on too and it's been fine.

Unlesss the car is lower it should be no problem.
|
I don't have these. What do they look like?
|
I'm not an expert but just by looking at the front spoiler, it serves no aerodynamic purpose, I think its more for show. I also scrape it a lot, but I like the way it looks.
|
it call aerodynamics for a reason :)
if you go down on an angle (1 wheel down first) you should be fine unless its like really steep |

Keep it on, it lets you know when you mess up.
If you take it off then you will be scraping your real lip. Its like training wheels almost. |
Thanks Dad those are exactly what im talking about. I guess il leave them on whatever. Steep driveway dosent help

Plastic Aero Aids on Oz Spec
They are fitted as standard to the Oz Spec, I had the dealer remove mine before delivery, as they would foul on my drive way. My GTR only just clears the drive by traversing onto the road, and the Z is about a centimetre lower with the plastic spoilers. I have kept mine to be fitted once I get the driveway modified.

they're cheap to replace...just make sure you know what angle to approach and back out of your drive way...of course, like everyone said, take it at an angle...a sharp angle, I may add....

never even had mine installed and sold it very soon after purchasing the car
