Like you I had to choose between the two. I love the 370Z and I’m saving up for one right now, but I went with the Camaro first. I choose the Camaro first because I needed the back seats and if I didn’t I might have gotten the Z first, but both are good cars. Here's somethings I like and don't like about my car.

Camaro 2SS/RS
Pros.
I love the sound of the engine and exhaust (Not stock Corsa)
Lots of power snaps you head back with every shift!
Turns heads at every light I stop at.
Brake are top notch.
This car can hang at any track (beat the Nismo 370Z)
The LS3 is a monster and takes well to mods
Cost

Cons,
The car sits to high it needs to be dropped about 2”, noticeable body role on hard cornering
No Nav, pedals are ugly, carpet sucks
Fake hood scoop
Stock exhaust is to quite
I hate the skip shift

The only compliant I had about the Z was you could hear everything outside even with the windows up but I’ll have one soon.

The Camaro is much quieter inside, there appears to be much more deadening of road noise and engine noise. The Z is still more fun to drive though, feels more alive.

I'm not putting much into that last Nismo test either (where they crashed it), something was seriously wrong with that test, the numbers didn't add up.

Those numbers add up to the Nismo not being any better than the base 370z.

Reliability-wise, no possible comparison. Only time will tell if GM has learned the lesson.

What is the most obvious flaw of the Nismo compared to the base 370Z with sports package in terms of performance? The tires, right?

Seemingly worse in that one particular track review. Who knows, maybe they left the spacers on? Maybe it was overheating? There will be other comparo's so we'll see if another mag gets different results. I'm not really expecting the Nismo to do all that much better than the Base w/Sport, the only significant difference is the improved damping in the suspension.

The Nismo uses the Advan Sport instead of the Bridgestone RE50A's. The rears are 10mm wider but the fronts are the same width, the rims are also 1/2 an inch wider. It's quite possible that the Advan's just aren't quite as sticky. They are 180TW vs the RE50A 140TW, but it's hard to cross reference those numbers between manufacturers.
