Time to repaint the front bumper
Well coming back from my oil change today, driving down my normal road in moderate traffic, the car in front of me kicks up some knid of object that was about 1 foot by 1 foot and must have been kinda heavy, and it got air borne. So this big *** thing hits my front bumber and then rattles under the car. I pull off at a gas station and and it hit and gouged my bumper in a couple of spots so it needs fixing and painting. It also cracked the passenger side dust cover thingy under neath the car which doesnt really have to be fixed I guess, at least not right now. I was quoted about $400 for the repair but my son works at a body shop so we will fix it ourself and not have to pay the deductable for ins if I were to make a claim.
So now Im trying to decide to keep the front bumper paint scheme the same or change it up a little.

I had a similar thing happen to me yesterday. I think it was part of a shredded tire. The car in the lane next to me was slightly ahead and I saw it serve really quick and then..bam! I hit something big with the drivers side tire and then I felt a thump almost right underneath me. I got off the freeway to take a look and I have a nice and large rubber tire mark on my drivers side rocker panel. It shows up real nice on a sliver car too.

sucks........
GF got some tire thrown at her G35 once. nice embedded rubber in the FR corner and knocked out the corner light. the roads around here have crap on them everywhere. the quote for 400$ isn't as bad as i wouldve thought. the amount of chips i already have in my bumper (6700 miles) means i'll be repainting sometime

The blue does have someting extra, I wouldnt say metallic, but maybe more like a pearl I guess. When the light doesnt hit it directly it just looks like a normal blue but when you look at a spot that has a beam of light on it you see the metallic affect. Plus the color looks different at night than it does during the day. I really like the blue but I dont think its a special color that would cost more.

with my son working at a body shop all I will pay for is the paint, Im just trying to decide if I want to do more of the grill area black or kep it stock coloring. ???? I will also be doing the Modshack vent DIY since the bumper will be off.
