Like, they enjoy the BRZ at the same time. That's becoming a rare opinion in the media. I mean I'd take a Z all day, but it seems everyone just trashes the 86 unless they're a diehard fangirl.
Funny how the tables turned so fast. When the BRZ came out, they praised it and compared it to the best of Ferrari and Porsche. That overhyped Chris Harris made a triple comparo completely trashing the 370z and worshipping the BRZ as the second coming of driving. When I finally got a chance to drive the TOYOBARU TWINS.
I found these cars as basic transportation that's good at taking a turn. That's it. Honda still made a better low hp engine with smoother revs and stronger sounds in the vtec. It's just the power goes to the wrong wheels in the Honda. The TOYOBARU TWINS to me was always hype. I just could never wrap my head around its $26k to 30k price tag when this car was originally slated to start at $22k. A top line TOYOBARU should cost less than a base Z. The Z is a true to life drivers car.

Chris Harris was bitten by the media hype bug and he couldn't really say anything substantially positive about the Z. The Z without a small mod to the suspension has some slop in the corners when trying to come out when you're new to the car... Some aftermarket shocks n springs cure that. But it's not so bad that you can't make the car turn great with a lil practice and natural ability. The Z will always be greater than TOYOBARU. No question.
Hotrodz likes this.
