For those of you in Cali, can I get away with getting <50% done as opposed to the legal 70%? 70% just seems like a waste of money :<
Also, is it true the tint films made of metallic will interfere with GPS, radio, etc? Someone mentioned I should go with ceramic films but those are expensive as f*ck. |

The reason I changed the percentage is because I kinda grew up for lack of better words. I thought it was cool to have limo tint so no one can see inside the car. The catch 22 is that it was extremely hard for me to drive at night in areas with low to no lighting. I've never got pulled over in any of those cars for a tint ticket. But a friend of mine has, and his car has 35% all around. I've never got ceramic tint, just the regular ones. I always go to the same shop and pay $140 for a coupe and $150 for a sedan. All 3 cars had either XM or Sirius radio and it never interfered with that. And my current car has GPS and it has never interfered with that as well. I'm also thinking about a clear bra for the Z because driving on the 5 freeway behind numerous trucks suck really bad. Getting rocks and such flung at your car is not cool. But I'm still indecisive. I've read threads on other forums that they have had their clear bra yellow prematurely, even though I believe the 3M has a 5 year warranty. I'll keep checking for other members who got theirs installed first. |

I'd like to add that on my Evo, we had to install the XM transmitter ourselves to an aftermarket head unit and the antenna was placed on the rear deck, right by the rear windshield that had 5% tint. I've never had any issues getting signal.

From the manual: Automatic adjusting function CAUTION When the battery cable is removed from the battery terminal, do not close either of the front doors. The automatic window adjusting function will not work and the side roof panel may be damaged. The power window has an automatic adjusting function. When the door is being opened, the window is automatically lowered slightly to avoid contact between the window and the side roof panel. When the door is closed, the window is automatically raised slightly. While the automatic adjusting function does not work, the window will be controlled as follows: . When the door is opened, the window lowers for approximately 2 seconds. . While the door is open, the window cannot be raised.

I may have a problem with this being that I have to roll my window down to open the gate of my garage (fob entrance). I will have to speak with someone about this when I get the clear bra done.

I have to swipe my ID badge when I come into work. For several days I just opened the door to swipe it. The slight cracking of the window will not harm the tint. But I did have my car tinted on my day off so it would have longer to dry.
