Nismo Concept at SEMA Clubsport23.

Nissan has been at it in the background. They have a new 370z Nismo concept car at SEMA. It has the VR30dett engine in it. Built by MA-Motorsports. Check it out on Instagram. Yes, it has a manual tranny.

Spooler 10-29-2018 12:27 PM

Somebody was listening at Zdayz 2018. Z1 has posted it also. I can't figure out how to post the pictures from my phone. LOL

Link to Z1's Instagram post

"BIG THINGS coming to SEMA this year from Nissan and NISMO. Nissan is returning to SEMA this year celebrating the iconic 370Z with its new project, the Clubsport 23! This new project has the 400hp VR30DDTT Twin Turbo V6 from the Infiniti Q50 / Q60 Red Sport with the Z1 HKS USA, Inc. Blow Off Valve Kit, AMS intakes, and more. Get this....it even has a 6-speed Manual Transmission!

Extensive enhancements were made to the braking system, including Z1's 2-Piece Akebono rotors, NISMO's soon to be released HC Brake Pads, and Stainless Brake Lines. Full roll cage was added with diamond-pattern upholstery very similar to what was used in the original 240Z.

More details on this project are soon to be released as the car heads to SEMA. Z1 will be at SEMA in the following days looking forward to the release of more information and more parts!"

if nissan was involved it would have never happened lol

they may have provided the engine.......but thats about it. then slapped their name to the credit to make it seem like they may be ready to update the Z.

Just wonder if Nissan already has a 370Z with that motor and tranny combo running around as a test mule. Or that is test mule number 1.

I like it too. LOL

It's giving me bad idea's. I could run my Velox rear diffuser if I routed the exhaust this way. Who needs mufflers with turbo's. :eekdance:

CRiZO 10-29-2018 03:41 PM

Wonder why they didn't go side exit. Thing's a race car.

In Texas at least, turbos are considered mufflers by the state. :eekdance:

Our excitement does. We as a group can push it forward. We are the future owners.

With your straight pipes, they'll turn the rear bumper black :ugh2:

It's not that I don't like how they look. Just that I think they're in a stupid location.

even the stock location allows carbon on the bumper and mine isnt bad.

Good luck with that one. We have all wanted a new model Z for a long time now. The bean counters at Nissan have other priorities other than the Z.

I'm with ya on that one. One of the reasons why I haven't gotten a new Vette.

Viraemia 10-29-2018 06:59 PM

Anyone know where the cubby cover stitching comes from? I'm guessing it's custom, but worth a shot.

Custom interior shop can do that for ya if you want it.

b15 10-29-2018 08:52 PM

Love this. VR30 has been making some crazy wtq figures on the q50, but looks like it's still got some teething issues even on the 2018 models.

Looking at MA Motorsports Facebook page, one of the older posts refers to the interior pieces being done by a shop in MA’s proximity.

2020 will be the 50th anniversary of the Z car. They better have something out by then. If they don't, I am flying to Japan to protest their stupidity. That is a promise.

For california z owners, wouldn't doing this engine change for a Z be a viable carb approved option to getting turbos?

OptionZero 10-30-2018 03:35 PM

If they sell this engine as a package, with wiring solution, SMOG certification and a factory warranty that bolts up to the stock tranny . . . hoooo boy thats a hell of a package

I would do that over a TT kit since i could drive freely on the street and have relative peace of mind, even if the HP/$ is lower than TT kit

Fast Intention's kit is about $10K for 500hp

I dunno if they can come at that pricing level . . . but i think even if it's more, it would be extremely appealing given the factors above

To be honest with you, for what my build is costing, I could have paid for a brand new NISMO TT car with cash if they offered it. I am too far down the rabbit hole now.

OptionZero 10-30-2018 04:10 PM

Looks like i was wrong about the wheels - those are Nismo LMGT4's (Omori Edition)

Curious if those are the standard 18 inch sizes or if they grew a set and made some 19/20's?
