What’s next?
 
I have $1000 burning a hole in my pocket and need suggestions on where to blow it. On my Z of course, the beer and stripper fund is separate. Keep in mind this is my daily driver and eventually it will be supercharged or TT charged, but that is years away.

So far my mods:

Clear bra: entire nose, rocker panels and rear fender flares.

UV window tint: 50% all around. Nothing on windshield.

Hood struts: I’m still amazed that a $40,000 car comes with a prop rod.

Z1 oil cooler: I forget how many cores it has but it does have a thermostat for the occasional cold GA Morning.

Stillen Gen III intakes.

Fast intentions CBE with 12” resonators.

An eku tech tune by Z1.

I was thinking High flow Cats, and Z1 already said they retune it, no charge, but I really don’t want it any louder than it is right now. Do HFC change the exhaust note that much? Headers? I live in a subdivision that loves to give out fines. I’m already getting the stink eye from some of the board members.

Anything I can do to the suspension? I think the car handles great now, but can it be better without losing a kidney on every pebble I run over? I was thinking of spacers, but who cares, right?

What would your next move be?

Have an oil cooler, but sway bars sound interesting. Any downside?

Save your money on the HFC's if you are going boosted. You'll chunk those at that time. I would invest in some SPL suspension bits and pieces.

Z1 rotors are lighter, stronger, and better at cooling. You can replace the outer part of them if needed. Plus, they look really nice.

Stainless steel lines because might as well since you will be doing the rotors anyway.

The 2-piece rotors, specifically, are what you should be looking at. The pair of front rotors are 20 lbs lighter than the stock sport pkg rotors. That's unsprung weight. Go ahead and get the SS lines as well.

Z1 is recommending coil overs. So confused....

Probably what they have the biggest mark up on ... $1K is not a lot to spend on coilovers. My vote is front sway bar (Hotchkis) and some 2-piece rotors.

To be honest the best bang for your buck is a diff upgrade. I would suggest a Wavetrac or OsGiken. You will get the most out of the performance out of that upgrade than anything else at the moment. If you don't have all the cash for it, save your money.

Since your planning going some sort of FI consider your Intake and exhaust work completed.

Things I would do:
Drive train!
You have a MT, so Zspeed elimination kit and clutch would be #1 on my list. With #2 being the a wavetec diff and whiteline bushing. I would go with Wavetec over OS giken because the Wavetec is maintenance free and will have less noise and no real drawbacks with performance for a DD.

Things I wouldn't do now:
Assuming a street only car, your sport brakes are good and don't need anything aside from maybe better pads when you get boosted. Your shouldn't be doing anything on the street where you would see any benefit of lighter rotors or different rotors or brake lines. Replace these thing with something nice if you want when they wear out or get old.

Same goes for most suspension work. Being a daily driver making a firm/stiff suspension will cost you comfort everyday with little benefit for going from A to B. If it was a weekend canyon carver sure then suspension mods would be good, but its a DD.

Nothing with your wheels and tires either. When you know what power level you will have you can then work on these things.
