Has anyone driven the new Exedy clutch in the 2019?
I have seen people post other op ed reviews and such, but haven't seen if anyone here has driven one of the new Zs with the new clutch setup. Curious to see how it compares to the 27 model years of 370Zs before it.
Let me know what you think if you have tried it out!

I used to own a 2010 40th Anniversary and the stock clutch setup was tiring to engage and drive smoothly - and I’ve been driving manuals for years... This prompted me to install an RJM clutch pedal(a version 1) which made clutch engagement much easier and made the car so much more enjoyable to drive for sure.
I recently purchased a new 2018 Nismo with the Exedy clutch and can honestly say this clutch is much easier to engage - there is absolutely no need for an RJM clutch pedal in this car. When I was shopping for a Nismo, I test drove used 2015 and 2016 Nismo’s and those had difficult clutch engagements. My 2018 is a piece of cake, so I have to chalk it up to the Exedy clutch setup - it really does make the car easier and more enjoyable to drive. |

Thanks for the input guys!
I wonder if they revised the CSC assembly to go with it. I'll do more digging. I've had a 40th Anniversary and a 2013 Sport Touring. Never really had much to gripe about with the clutches I guess - I expected it to be "meatier" than my Altima Coupe and my Sentra Spec V that I had. Other than that, I've driven several other MT sports cars and the Z's setup was just kinda "par" for me. Didn't overwhelm or underwhelm me - did the job. I'm looking to pick up a 15+ Nismo (trying to get the Titan paid off quickly), and my current budget was topping out at $30k, but I may consider waiting longer to pick up a 2018 or newer. Gotta wait minimum until spring either way. We'll see how it goes. |

In the manual version of the 2019 Nissan 370Z the Exedy clutch is a upgrade and will hold more whp and wtq. Agreed the CSC and CMC is the same garbage you will have to fix though. When drove the new manual 2019 Nissan 370Z drivability feels the same no different than the previous years but it’s nice to see Nissan try to make performance improvements to the 370Z even though it is not fixing the major flaw the CSC and CMC.

How do we know it’s an upgrade? Companies like Exedy make tons of parts for manufacturers that are built to spec. If I had to bet, it’s the same part built to the same spec by a new supplier and Nissan is trying to use the Exedy name so people think it’s better. Kind of like how HKS makes the current Nismo exhaust, but it’s built to damn near the exact same specs that the old Autech one was.
