For the money, it's hard not to consider the Z, but why is this car so loud inside? Regardless of the engine sounding like a tractor, the road noise from the smaller wheels were really loud. What are you guys doing to help combat this? Earplugs? Spraying some kind of sound suppression undercoat in the wheel wells?

Smaller wheels? What's your daily driver - bigfoot? Even then, that WOULD sound like a tractor, and the noise level inside would be something to complain about...

As well as the gas mileage.

You do nothing, the Z is meant to bare it all in a sense.
They cut weight, which included some sound dampening, they beefed things up to help make the car quicker. Also, some of your comments are quotes from magazine reviews...

Edit: If you want the Z but make it quieter, go buy a G37.

its a true sports car, not a luxury cruiser...I'm finding it hard for a mustang owner to have a prejudice about anything coming from such a generic, low quality car

Who takes the time test drive a car, and then create an account just to rip it on a forum of other owners?

Wish I had nothin' better to do...

So Eric, is there anything you were particularly impressed with in comparison to a mustang?

There is obvious road noise from the tires and also that you are really really low to the ground compared to something like a Subaru or something. Heck, even my old dropped WRX was a lil higher than the Z.

I think it does have a bit to do w/ the tired since to be honest, I rarely hear the other vehicles on the road next to me.

Also, once the radio is on, I really don't pay attention to it. I get in other cars and find it too quiet for my tastes personally. And the Z is ALOT quieter on the inside than say a 94 M3...Man those things are loud on the inside!

why is it that everybody complains about the road noise? its a 2 seated sports car, there WILL be road noise, but damn, its not even that bad. Why would you make a post complaining on a forum specific to the car in question anyways? ESPECIALLY about something as minute as road noise. I've driven quite a few Mustangs, you're complaining about road noise?

"Engine sounds like a tractor?" What are you smoking?

Road noise, yeah, it is a sport car and depends of the road but is not as bad as some reviews make it sound.

Read the forum. Plenty of threads on this issue plus DIYs if you want it quieter.

I'd like to use my first official post to say that I am already sick of people complaining about road noise. My last car was an S2000 and my 370 is like sitting in a library compared to that thing. If you don't want to hear the engine and don't like feeling the road, do us all a favor and wander over to the Lexus forum where everybody raves about how it's so quiet it's like their *** is riding on clouds.
