Default Need Some Help

I need some help, so I’m stuck between two choices right now I’m stuck between the nismo and the sports edition of the 370z I plan on doing mods to my car and fixing it up a bit. Can you guys tell me if there is any difference between both I know that the nismo is faster but I would like to know if one I can do any mods to the nismo, if with all the mods done to the sports edition car would it be faster then the nismo, and last is it possible to where I can make the 370z look like the nismo?

Yes, you can make the sport look like the nismo, but it's costly. Not only do you need the bumpers, you need the (front only?) liners as well. Plus the DRLs if you choose which are iirc $700 in itself and not to mention paint. As far as mods, the only difference I know is length of the cbe. If you're making your car look like the nismo, might as well buy the nismo. You get the trim and glammer, not to mention the Recaro seats. Other than that I suggest you do your own research as this site has all the answers and builds of others you can utilize.

I'd go the cheaper model and build a sleeper. The premium charged for the Nismo isn't worth it in my view.

IMO do you like the looks or no? The base auto is the fasted in the quarter mile. The nismo is slower because of the added drag of the body kit providing actual down force, at least on the 09-14 models. But it's really a small difference that you can't really notice, especially when you start making some changes to the intake and exhaust etc. To make the exterior look the same isn't too bad but really not worth it if you have the chance to buy the nismo upfront. To make the interior look the same will not be worth it.

Default Need Some Help

When I was shopping for my Z, I didn’t even consider anything but the Nismo model. Just the upgrades in the seats alone was worth it for me. Then when I took into consideration the upgrades in suspension, body bracing and dampeners, aero body, wicked wheels and true double exhaust, the Nismo was a bargain as far as I was concerned. It is also quite rare to see one so that was another bonus for me. But, buy what you like. I absolutely love what NISSAN has done with the 15+ Nismo. The base model is too bland for my tastes.

If performance is what you want buy the Sports edition, and modify it. If you want the looks then get the Nismo. There is not wrong answer.

BTW, the Nismo isn't really isn't "faster" than the standard Z. It's horsepower gains are primarily from the 60mm CBE, but it's also heavier due to the body kit and bigger wheels etc.

With this logic, the base would be more performance-oriented with less weight on the car overall and smaller wheels than the sports package.

As much as I think the nismo looks good, i personally would not make a non-nismo look like a nismo.

1. If I was to add the nismo body kit, I would take off all “nismo” badging
2. It’s like those kids that put the “dohc” sticks on their sohc civics
3. After everything is said and done, you will have spent more energy/time/money than just buying a nismo up front. Why shop for all the ingredients of a steak dinner when you can just go to Outback? Don’t have to shop for it, dont have to cook it, and don’t have to clean up afterwards.

The Nismo is not faster (straight line). It has a bit more power and a bit more weight, those factors cancel each other out (and are small differences anyway).

The Nismo may be quicker around a track due to the stiffer suspension and chassis bracing.

TL;DR: If you want a track warrior, buy a Nismo. If you want a road warrior, buy standard.

Unless you're talking about twin turboing it and making it a GTR killer, a 370Z cannot be a sleeper.

Any car can be a "sleeper" if it vastly outperforms it's stock form and you can't tell from just looking at it.

So i figure with this logic, I guess the folks at Nissan sucks and you can do 1000x better by slapping on the same exact nismo kits yourself at home.

You’re missing the point.
