No offense but this is closed clickbait garbage.

Nice list. Agree with pretty much everything. Interesting they lumped the Z cars together but specifically referenced the R35 GT-R in the ranking titles - I get that it's a completely different animal so no real argument here.

Only thing I might argue is the Miata should have been somewhere on there (but the MG does cover the 2 seater small engine category). Probably dump the Testarossa or F40 (personally, I prefer the F40) so there's 2 Lambo and 2 Ferrari and insert the Miata right before the MG at the end.

:icon14: worked fine for me ... noted one popup blocked

lol R35 becomes an instant icon but McLaren F1 is nowhere to be found?

I am glad our cars get recognition, but the list is rather garbage.

JARblue 07-18-2018 10:16 AM

I guess it depends on how you define iconic. For the most part, the cars in this list are more attainable than some other cars that could be on the list. The McLaren F1 is a phenomenal car, especially when you consider it's NA and how it stacks up against boosted competition. But I could see an argument that the F40 is a little more visually recognizable and might fit a definition of iconic a bit better.

One could argue Koenigsegg should have a car (One:1) on there, too.

StormWhite 07-18-2018 10:28 AM

Audi R8 & Bugatti Veyron?

mishuko 07-18-2018 10:32 AM

Mclaren not being on the list? Garbage lol

R32 r33 were great. They the og gtr that gave the godzilla its name.

Cries in jdm

List looks right for the US. Remember, we never had an R32, R33, or R34 in the states. As far as McLaren not being on the list, they haven't been building cars very long considering the others and the numbers are so low how can it be iconic.

No offense taken. However, if you’re calling some of these cars garbage, then I’ll just have to say, I disagree with your assessment.

Agreed JAR, everyone’s definition of iconic differs. Personally I think the author did a good job.

Yes, I don’t think you’re wrong at all. Like my post above, it depends on your definition of iconic. It appears the author’s definition of iconic is cars that were made in the 60’s-80’s and that’s fine as those cars have stood the test of time.

Haha yeah, I googled them and they do have quite a few articles online and seem pretty cool.

Well I’m sure a lot of Miata owners might disagree with you. If you check the history of car sales in the US, the Miata has sold more cars then the Z over the past 5 years.

And you wonr get it unless you drive a well sorted Miata on track or Canyons

One of the most fun cars you will ever drive ;)

sp911 07-25-2018 11:11 AM

of course people will argue with the list. i'm just surprised no mustang. if there was then I could have said I owned 4 of them. I would think Porsche 911 would be number 1.
