tks AK and Trema for defending me. yes its 80-90 Miles Per HOUR...but he will realize that soon enough. and quick question...is it a 19 gallon tank or 20

FERRARI 02-17-2009 10:18 PM

I apologize......I did read it wrong.......

520 miles on one tank is my personal best ( shell gas ) . All interstate at 75 mph.

ssqpolo 09-01-2009 10:32 AM

new personal best: 536...98% highway. ran it till it was EEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMPPPPPPTTTTTTYYYYY...no dots left, for a good 10 miles. chevron 93

I like the car..I buy it! I don't ask or worry about fuel mileage!
I get a kick out of the people that ask "what kind of fuel mileage you get"!Nerds!
I have a family couple that when we go out as couples they break out there calculator to figure what each couple owes seperately instead of just dividing by number of couples?Tightwad whacks that won't even go for ice water.Mooch off everybody and when a barbecue they bring the cheapest six pack and drink everyone elses best beer!Needless to say they are not invited anymore to my house or at our events.
So I guess you know my opinion of the squeakers that are on here worrying about there fuel mileage.Life is to short and if you can't afford the gas you shouldn't have bought the car.
I'am going to fill up now so have a nice day!

So what do you think? Personally I think that's pretty good. The rest of you 370Z owners post how many miles you get on your first full tank.

Looks like this thread has life again. I missed it before but 300 sure seems low to me with that commute unless it's stop and go.

I get close to 400 miles on a tank of gas and I'm not exactly easy on her either.

xiven 09-01-2009 10:48 AM

464 from a road trip with the a/c on...could have easily made it over 500 but i was doing quite a bit of spirited driving

DooDooBrown 09-01-2009 10:54 AM

350 miles on the last tank, that included some sport driving, however, it was mostly highway. Gauge said I did an average of 21.8 mpg!

nolan 09-01-2009 11:07 AM

I have driven 325 street miles on full tank of gas.

aling lukring 09-05-2009 09:58 AM

my comp says 19.9 mpg.i dont drive on freeways but i do shift before 3000 and use the ac.is that good for city driving?only have 1350 miles on it.when i first got it it is said 15 mpg on the comp

juan05 09-05-2009 11:06 AM

i get crap mpg 15 in city i barely go on the highway so yea...

bradz 10-11-2009 12:26 AM

308 miles here one dot left.

vipor 10-11-2009 01:01 AM

Always Shell/Texaco or Chevron 93 gas. Getting 300 at least with ~40mph 1/2 stop-and-go and 1/2 highway driving... Probably less highway. 350 is my best so far, although I'm only at 2200 miles. Mileage seems to be improving noticably already.

bullitt5897 10-11-2009 01:21 AM

on my trip to chicago from atlanta my avg speed was 113mph and 447miles per tank. I made the trip in 10 hrs hehehe

My only thought on this is "how" - 113 average is stupid.

His calculator needs recalculating...

Mapquest says: Total Travel Estimates: 11 hours 31 minutes / 718.52 miles
Atlanta to Chicago at normal speeds.....10hours?... a 72mph average..(yawn)

I have only 800 miles on my new '09 nismo. So not fully broken in for sure. Getting 25.6 according to the car computer with the cruise set on 78mph. Using 93 octane.

He's not good at math.

I did something just as stupid when I was 20. I drove my 97 Formula from Los Angeles to Las Vegas in 2 1/2 hours. I averaged 125MPH for a 303 mile trip. I started at 4am and got there at just a little after 6:30am. (I stopped to get some beef jerky). The fastest I went on that trip was just over 140MPH and I slowed down to 90MPH when coming up on big-rigs so I didn't get wind washed off the road. I was extremely lucky on that trip because I didn't kill myself or anyone else. I didn't have any close calls which was shocking because I wasn't on the right tires to be going that fast. I had 2.73 gears, so my highway mileage was insane... On 15 gallons I went a hair over 410 miles total.

Now that I'm more grown up and I'm not a total tool behind the wheel, I don't drive like that anymore. I know that sounds harsh, but it's the truth. Doing triple digits on the highway is stupid and dangerous not just to yourself but anyone else around you.

I've hit triple digits with the Z, I hate to say it, fairly often, mostly because it just runs up there so damn smooth that you don't realize that your going that fast. That in itself is what makes that kind of speed dangerous...in my case it's when I'm passing someone who can't stay in their own lane. Sometimes I slow down and keep them in front of me, other times I jump around them and gain some space, and when I look down, I usually hit the brakes, or just let the car wind itself down...depending on how far over the limit I am and how likely it would be to get caught. I've also found myself going a lot higher the speed limit off enterance ramps. I gotta quit that...lol

On that note, I called 911 to report someone going the wrong way on an exit on the highway ramp (as in, they were getting on the highway going the wrong way). I couldn't believe it...

Crash 10-13-2009 06:07 PM

I think we all know the difference between going 113MPH for a long distance and going 100MPH for 2-3 seconds. I catch my dad doing that once in a while. What's interesting is that it's REALLY easy to keep speed down in my Z06. Once you go over 90MPH it lets you know you're going too fast on the heads-up display on on the driver information console.

marcussoori 10-13-2009 07:24 PM

Not my first full tank, but at ~10,000 I got 400+ miles on a tank multiple times during a road trip, 95% highway driving.

I doubt I'm the only one...

As stated in an earlier post, I live in city with 2.2 million people, in traffic there is constant braking. Oh yeah and I'm not afraid to go the speed limit. When the car is broken in and it still averages 18 MPG I'm cool with that, if it doesn't I'm cool with that too.

Actually, you live in a city of nearly 6 million people, with some pretty horrible traffic at times.

Rogue Z 10-14-2009 03:54 AM

I go from Downtown LA to my parents , which is an hour north of Sacramento, on one tank every time.

drpatterson 10-15-2009 05:22 PM

mileage

Mile 370 Nismo has about 900 miles on it. According to the car's MPG it said I got 25.2 mpg and I had the cruise set on 78mph on about an one hour trip. Not too bad but again I didn't get the car either for fuel economy. I would expect the mileage to creep up a little after 3000-4000 miles on the engine.
