Accident to the Z
2 Attachment(s)
Well on my day off I was awakened to a knock on the door by two ladies that worked for meals on wheels. They informed me that they hit my car. I asked them of they were ok and checked the damage. Still drivable thankfully. Got the accident report which stated she was going about 25MPH and the officer labeled the damage as severe. Anyone think this amount of damage would hurt the trade-in value? I don’t ever plan to get rid of my Z but still I am not happy with the possibility of a loss in value due to someone’s lack of attention.
Sorry for the image being angled weird. I can’t seem to get pictures on here to look right. |
You won't know until you take the cover off how much damage was done.
It'll hurt the trade-in some, but some shops don't even report it. My previous car was hit twice, and neither showed up in the carfax. |

Get them to give you an estimate for the damage and then make them add some for depreciated value. Chances are they won't give you much but anything is better than nothing.

If their insurance is handling it, make sure you take it where you want. Geico will try to use some cheapo shop.
You're looking at a $2-3k quote I'd guess. |

So.... unless the car suffered structural damage usually you’ll get next to nothing for depreciation. Pssst, I was an auto adjuster not too long ago. Switched roles within the same company but yup I can help you out with any questions you may have |
:iagree:
Probably ask for $500-1000 and be happy with $100-200 would be my uneducated guess. Better than nothing. |
