First and future mods for 370z
 

So I'm looking for the first couple mods to apply to the Z, I'm new to being able to modify my car as my first two cars were a 97 Sebring when I was a teen to a Hyundai Santa Fe for the past 5 years.

The first three things I'm thinking of Intake, Exhaust, and Oil cooler.
I want to go with the Stillen Gen3 Long intakes as I'll be getting the best bang for my buck with these and have heard nothing but good reviews about them.

I'm stuck on what exhaust to get as there are so many options.
I don't want anything obnoxiously loud, but a kit that adds more volume and growl? I've looked at Magnaflow Street Series but I have a friend whos prefers Flowmaster and says Magnaflow has a drone to it. Another kit I'm looking at is the AAM 2.5" True Dual Exhaust. Any suggestions are welcome, but please state why you gave the suggestion i.e price, performance, easy install etc.
An oil cooler I heard may not be needed for a daily driver but I'm also hearing 200-215 oil temp isn't good for engine longevity. I was looking at Mishimoto and Stillen for oil coolers, again any suggestions are welcome, I'm all ears or eyes in this case.

It really depends on the price range you're looking at.

Personally, I have a Motordyne Shockwave CBE. IMO second best sounding exhaust under the ArmyTrix one. They run a little under or just about $2,000 USD for a new one with burnt exhaust tips. My Z is my daily driver and at cruising speeds it sounds fine. No drone and not terribly loud. Once you WOT though, it screams. As far as performance goes, (with a tune) you'll see about 15-20 hp gains.

Consider the Fast Intentions CBE.

If you are looking at full length cold air intakes you will gain whp and wtq with the Stillen Gen 3 cold air intake that will work well on your Z. The AAM 2.5” true dual exhaust is excellent quality and has excellent fitment as well having installed the AAM exhaust kits before. The AAM 2.5” true dual exhaust is priced good for what you get. Do not get the Mishimoto oil cooler they are garbage and it is only a matter of time that the o ring seal will fail which will cost you an engine save yourself the misery. Be careful what oil cooler you choose to install on your Z. The Stillen oil cooler is a good quality oil cooler kit. If you need help and advice on mods you can PM me.

Youtube is your friend for exhaust options. FWIW, Garageline offers a good economic CBE and X and Y pipes if you want to pick your own axle back exhaust.

Z1 and Stillen both provide good oil cooler options, if you want to save a few bucks from Mishimoto. They're all good options.

So now I'll be going for the Z1 Oil cooler, 25-row, protective hose wrapping, thermostatic, with Setrab core. Cost is $563.00
The reason I'm not going for the 34-row was I won't be tracking anytime soon, and it will also be a while before I can afford a turbo kit. Also where I live (Savannah, GA) is considered Moderate climate, even though it gets hot and humid as heck. 90+ in the summer with 80%+ humidity constantly.
Looking at the Stillen Gen3 intake I saw there was a dry/wet filter option. Whats the consensus on these?

personal preference. I don't like the oiled filters myself, It's an extra step that if done wrong could mess with the maf sensors for a minimal (if any) gains imo.

Z1s CIA is $50 cheaper than Stillen and will give the same gains. No point in spending extra unless your going 3" intakes

Go dry filter, so much easier to maintain.

If I get an intake kit what would I need to modify in the front towards the bumper? Would it be good to modify the bumper as well to allow for more air flow to the filters?
