I bought mine brand new (2018 pearl white sport tech M/T) about three weeks ago. I absolutely love it. First time Z owner.
The car is something else. It looks great. It’s rare (people stare a lot, im sure a lot more than if I were on a Mustang/Camaro which I can go rent at Avis LOL) and it’s just the right amount of fast. That's how i always feel about the Z. Aside from the great heritage/background, everything comes together nicely with the z and just brings me a smile even for all its flaws... i chose the Z regardless of other cars out there atm, i don't think all enthusiasts go strictly for performance anyways its about the car not so much the speed.. a buddy of mine just bought a 1990's something car not sure what didn't hear the name haha but he loves the car and knows there is something "faster" but thats not what its about to him and for me, the z is what im about, theres just something about the Z:yum: |
I recently sold my 2010 Z because I just fell out of love with her. After 8 years of being together, the relationship just became not so special and decided to pull the trigger and divorce her. Over the past several years I didn't enjoy being with her like in the beginning and in the later years I just let her sit while incurring costs of paying insurance, registration, inspections and maintenance. I still like the body style and think she's sexy looking, but after riding her hard it just became an outdated model and I'm looking for something better to come along.

Why... well you get 425hp in a 30k car, it drives well and is decent looking. If the z had the red sport motor with 400 plus hp for 43k or so it would decimate the competition. The only thing close is an M2 which is like 60k. The z with a light tune would destroy the mustang gt. Heck I hung with a modded GT in my lightly modded nismo. My car also is 700 pounds lighter with my titanium and spare yanked... |

The body style is a home run. How many times have you turned and looked at your Z or had comments from strangers. The 370Z is a classic car that you can buy restored as in brand new. You can pick up low mile cars at great prices. Being that the car has not changed much you can do so many modifications to the car at reasonable prices to be more competitive with competition. Yes, the car needs an update in performance and technology.That will be for a new Z model.(Z35) For now I enjoy my Classic roadster. |

I remember being a teenager and seeing something very unusual, someone in the village, who apparently worked nightshift at a sliced bread factory, driving a red 240Z. From that day forward I always wanted one but had to wait until recently and settled for a 370Z.
I have had a Ford Focus RS Mk2 and a Holden LS2 V8 but I have never forgotten the red 240Z. For me part of the fun is two seats , no real boot and the 240Z heritage - No contest. I usually change my car every 2 or 3 years but my current car is currently a keeper especially if there are to be no more. Its done 4K miles so far so plenty of life left in it. |

Tuners have a different mindset. Not that I tuned my Z to the extreme. But my braking and suspension tuning was fairly aggressive and I had a few core mods. We need new platforms once they are done tuning their cars and have pushed their cars to the limits they have set. Since the Z is a HERITAGE car. Loyal tuners are awaiting for the next evolution of their car. So they can enhance and push the limits of the car.... DON'T FORGET. Car companies improve their cars from the modifications the consumer market invents, not vice versa. If you didn't have hungry tuners pining for a Z35 to mod and improve them? Nissan wouldn't have the ideas to make better cars at the factory. You love your Z so much because all of those hungry tuners, putting in so much work in past Z's. So if people were the way you perceive they should be. Sports cars would have never progressed to be as good as the Z34 is today. There isn't only one type of enthusiast. |
Really cool article. I was unaware that the person responsible for the Z passed away in 2015 at the age of 105. I am lucky to own a model Z that was created while he was still around. I do not see a reason to use my Z as some sort of trade-in or just outright part ways with being that I would not see the value in dollars outweigh personal value. I can’t predict the weather nor the future but I hope I have the ability to stick the Z somewhere safe to age when it comes time to drive something else due to starting a family etc. I think the 370z will age well in my opinion.
