I can't stand part store detailer supplies. I use 3M Hand Glaze for a paint cleanser/scratch remover/swirl remover. Klasse All-in-One Polish and Klasse Gloss sealant (like a wax). I use Pinnacle for a wax if I want the car to REALLY shine. The Klasse Sealant is a good shine.

When I moved here, I had to leave my detailing liquids (movers don't ship open liquids). I needed some stuff and so I bought that crap. It did almost nothing. I ordered my normal supplies online. They make a HUGE difference.

Spend the money and get some good stuff.

I don't buy my tires at Walmart and I don't buy my detailing supplies at PepBoys.

1. Nxt car wash
2. Clay bar
3. Nxt liquid tech wax
4. Gold class paste with carnauba
5. Natural shine interior
6. Plexus clear bra
7. Hot shine tire spray
8. nxt speed detailer as needed and with clay bar.
9. Call it a day.

I was using just the nxt wax but read on this forum about putting a coat of paste carnauba over it and it does look pretty good. I like the natural shine - doesn't leave that oily wet look of some brands. Also, try clay bar. Didn't think it would make much difference when I first tried it, but the finish is noticeably cleaner and smoother to the touch. Can't have too much microfiber!

I get my supplies from pep boys with exception of plexus. The specialty auto store 20 miles away sells these brands at premium prices so why not save a few dollars. As long as we stay away from cheap abrasive stuff and be careful with our equipment (I don't use orbital - everything by hand), the car should hold up fine.

That's a common method many of the high end detailing sites recommend...... use a product that is more of a paint protection like NXT, then come back and layer a natural carnuba on top to deepen the shine and add a wet look to the finish. I have read though that you should let the NXT cure for about 12 hours BEFORE doing the carnuba on top.

They are okay for the newb and can get fair results if you use it correctly.

good point. I've been sealing over one weekend and then coming back to wax one or two weeks later after a wash. My list was actually misleading as I do wait a weekend or two between the nxt and paste. I was doing it just to space things out and keep me busy - interesting to learn about the cure time for the sealant.
