370z Trim Packages

So today I was looking at all the different type of packages for the 370z but didnt see much of a difference is there like any website that breaks down with all the packages have? Like on the sports what it has compared to the Nismo and etc?

but then what will be the sports addition, cause it only has nismo coupe and Roadcoaster

also if I just want mainly performance should I go with Nismo or sports, those two are my main options cause I honestly dont know what base is or the other one is

Do you plan on modding the car? If the answer is yes the sport package is the better route unless you really want the Nismo body kit and Recaro seats and are willing to pay the Nismo premium.

Most people that performance mod these cars are doing suspension and full (or almost full) breather mods. Once you replace all those parts much of what made the Nismo special is gone.

Sport = base + better brakes, 19" wheels, spoiler, rev match, VLSD
Nismo = better brakes (same as sport I think), nismo wheels (wider front and rear), VLSD, recaro seat backs (base of seat is the same as sport and base), different exhaust, different tune (350hp instead of 332)

I think tech package adds nav and something else and touring also adds leather seats with seat heaters and stuff. Somebody will have to correct me on the details, but it's something like that.

If you just want performance, there are basically two camps, sport if you're going to do some mods, but nothing crazy, nismo if you're pretty much not going to do anything (as it basically comes with a different exhaust and tune. If you like doing things yourselves and adding your own touch (intakes, exhaust, tune, wheels, brakes, etc.), the sport is a good option. The sport has great brakes too which you can upgrade if you get really serious (to a stoptech setup or something). It's basically a wash, and the real decision here is to get what you want.

The nismos were a bit on the higher end of what I could afford, so I preferred a low mile sport that I could modify as I desired over a longer time period (keeping it fresh/interesting to me). My 2 cents.

Wrong. The Nismo and base+sport both have the same vLSD.

Yes I plan on adding my own things to the car like exhaust wife body kit and etc so would it be best for me to get the sports and is the base like a normal car?

It depends on what you mean by "normal car."

The Base model is the plain-Jane version. Same drivetrain, but no cosmetic/convenience features.

As soon as an aftermarket body kit is a planned mod then you should be going with the Base+Sport.

Tech has the Nav, backup camera, and bose audio.

The backup camera is the 'can't live without' option in the tech package in my opinion. :)

Ah, that's what it was. Backup cameras in this car are so useful. I ended up going with an aftermarket headunit w/ apple car play, because that felt like a better setup than the stock headunit and didn't need the premium for the rest of the tech package. SO USEFUL for a car with blind spots that hide planets. Makes backing out of grocery store parking lots way less scary.

Please tell me more about this " wife body kit "... I'm unfamiliar.

I thought as of 2018, all cars need to come with a backup camera?

I think it's for all cars manufactured in 2018, so I'd guess the 2019 MY vehicles is what it applies to. Base doesn't have backup cam according to their site.

trbo1007 05-17-2018 07:36 PM

Nissan has a backup camera retrofit for non Nav cars that’s in the rear view mirror. I’ve seen some Sports with this added. Was on window sticker. Not cheap if I remember correctly.

So should I go for a sports type of car or base?? I was thinking of getting a sports type and then if possible getting a nismo if I can find any because as of right now I cant find any in Florida there mainly base and sports

trbo1007 05-18-2018 08:22 AM

Just get the Sport or Sport Tech so you can enjoy it this summer!

My wife and I are selling our 2014 and that Nissan site is the perfect place to send potential buyers. I've already put the link in our ad.

Thanks again!

Sport for sure (or sport tech if you want more features). Good performance and you already want to do bodywork. No point in paying premium for Nismo IMO since the aesthetics of the Nismo is one of the big reasons to get it (if you like it).

Desert Rat 05-18-2018 02:45 PM

I just can't see any economics in why a Nismo is worth all the extra coin they charge for one.

That was my feeling as well.

370Z944 05-18-2018 11:42 PM

Nismo is low production, more potential as a collectable. If you're just going to mod it, dont waste a nismo.
