For the first time in my life I actually put $100 worth of gas in my car.........and it didn't even fill it up.Sometimes it really sucks living in Canada:shakes head:

ColtronZ 05-14-2018 03:00 PM

That's per gallon. In Canada we use the metric system. so we are charged in litres.

The average price is $1.38 a liter.
4.54 liters to imperial gallon

1.38 x 4.54 = $6.27

Oil prices are starting to rise.I live in a state where a lot of your oil comes from.
When oil was over $120 a barrel there was no reason for price.Glut of oil on market.
Price dropped to $40.00 a barrel.Price can be influenced by opec.US refiners where loosing money at that price. They will keep refining. Cost to close plant and start up again is to high. I think about $72.00 a barrel would be a stable market.Your gas prices would be about where they are now after this last rise in price.

RicerX 05-15-2018 08:23 AM

That and the Canadian dollar was trading at roughly 72 cents US last week. Doesn't help.

Yesterday when I put the $100 in I paid $1.69/liter

Martijn_b 05-15-2018 10:41 AM

Haha here we go again, gas price discussions.

Y'all wanna come to Europe? 9 usd per gallon for 91 octane.

Chan Chee Hoe 05-15-2018 06:14 PM

Hong Kong also very expensive,Singapore following up.

axmea? 05-15-2018 08:37 PM

I ain't complaining. It is what it is. I'll start whining at 6 bucks usd. At 10 bucks a gal a prius with wings will start to grow on me.

US gallon is 3.785 liters...

1.38usd x 3.785 = $5.22

One also should consider RON vs octane ratings . 95/98 RON is roughly equivalent to 91/93 octane in US. I'd pay 1-1.50 more for 93.

Airwilf 05-17-2018 08:11 PM

It's been stable for the last several weeks $1.28 Litre in the Niagara region for regular. Saw it @ $1.24 last week during a Sunday cruise. Rocket fuel will set you back around $1.42 /L:tiphat:

We are at least 10 cents more per L here in the GTA. Price gouging/corporate greed and high taxes coupled with high oil prices are leaving less disposable income our hands.

Desert Rat 05-18-2018 02:43 PM

OP should try one of my trucks. A '77 ford with dual OEM tanks - about 40 gallons, or my diesel Ram with a 34 gallon tank...and diesel costs more. When prices were up a few years back I remember a few $120 fillups in the Ram. Those hurt.

Yea I hear ya,but I didn't think the day would come so soon that when I pull into a gas station in a two seater and the guy asks me to fill er up,and I say no,just put $100 in:ugh2:

Chevron with Techron, although Chevron offers their additive in every grade, whereas Shell only offers Nitro in their premium grade.

I use imperial gallons. And that’s for 93.

Finding the Us gallon equivalent is easy cause our currency exchange rate is the same as the imperial to us gallon conversion.

Highest octane grade I’ve seen is 93. Most gas stations offer 3 octane grades and 7-11 I believe offers 4 (someone correct me if I’m wrong).

Sunoco here on the east coast used to have 94 octane option. I don't see it there anymore:(

6mt370 05-21-2018 05:00 AM

California I think 91 is up to $3.90 a gallon and e85 is $2.75 a gallon. I get a decent amount of mileage out of a full tank in the Z on 91 depending on how I drive but I only get about 75 miles on a full tank of e85 on my Supra.

Magic Bus 05-21-2018 02:05 PM

Wow, California gas tops Oahu prices. Just paid $3.30 a gallon for 92 at Costco here, however at most regular retail stations, it would cost about $3.70.

Spooler 05-21-2018 02:57 PM

I don't give a rip about fuel prices. I pay for SMILES per gallon, not miles per gallon.

CRiZO 05-21-2018 03:01 PM

Haha cars using gas? ******* wild.

Tractionless 05-21-2018 09:59 PM

No matter where you live the prices didn't come down near enough for the price of crude per barrel at its lowest. It will now go higher per gallon than where it was when crude was over $100 barrel. And the rich get richer, enjoy! PS I got 150 gallon tank to fill in my boat and MUST use non-ethanol, right now looking at $530 for a fillup. Not complaining, that's a good first world problem to have, just comparing against those noting the pain of filling a puny 40 gallon tank.

Baronsmokes 05-21-2018 10:24 PM

No one likes high gas prices.I feel the price is not that bad.You pay $2.00 for a 16 OZ water in vending machine.Oil has to be found, pumped out of ground, shippeded to a refinery, processed, shipped to gas station.

Sure we all understand the prices of oil exploration, refining, transportation., etc.
What we don't appreciate is the high corporate greed, extra high government taxes and overall price gouging concerning oil and for that matter gasoline.

ANMVQ 05-22-2018 07:11 AM

local Shell to me is $3.57 a gallon :/
