That's their "CYA" statement, so if you go through a deep puddle and manage to hydrolock your engine you can't blame them. That AEM intake is really low. It's generally recommended you go with either the Stillen Gen 3, or the Z1.

Otherwise, leave it alone and put K&N panels in the stock boxes. No hot air intakes, your factory setup already pulls in cold air from outside the engine bay, so don't go with a setup that has filters in the engine bay.

I run my Stillen Gen 3, year round here in Ohio.

I run the Injen CAI, and I have had a CAI on most of my cars, the problem with these disclosures by the mfg's is to warn you that if you see a pond don't go thru it...if it's raining like hell it will not be a problem but they don't want you to lawyer up if you decide to cross the Mississippi

I ran a Stillen Gen 3 cold air intake for years here in Atlanta,Georgia in heavy rain for many years and possible floods and I never sucked any water or moisture in the intake system or the engine. You will never suck any water into your engine with a cold air intake installed on your Z. It is safe to install a cold air intake on your Z. If you are that worried about it install a short ram cold air intake like the K&N Blackhawk cold air intake or AEM cold air intake. It’s your choice you could even just install K&N drop in air filters in your stock Nissan air boxes.
