im in the market for a new car and i've been checking out different manufacturers and was checking out the camaro for a change cause i thought it looked good In transformers. Anyway, i dislike the instrument panel in the camaro very much. I dont know what they were thinking when they developed that, well anyway i was pretty certain i was going to get the z but i saw there were oil temp issues. Have they dealt with that in the 2010 model?

i dont want to have to deal with high oil temps again. Right now i drive an rx7, first owner and ive gone through alot with this car

Oil temp issues are easily solved with an oil cooler. Furthermore, you'll only get overheating issues if you actually track the car.

There are plenty of oil cooler options out there, ranging from 400+. All are fairly easy to install and can be done in a few hours for the most part.

Why not just LSX swap the FD?

How are the Apex Seals holding up? Any oil consumption? How's the gas mileage on the RX7?

There are plenty, maybe thousands, of posts on here stating that oil temp is not a problem with the 370Z unless you track the car. Read, man! Read!

No warranty issue with an oil cooler unless it's installed incorrectly and causes a problem. Again...no oil temp problem UNLESS YOU RACE THE CAR AT THE TRACK.

Now don't get me wrong, I love the rotary, I used to own an RX-3.

Merry Christmas, I hope Santa brings you a Z! Here's my Xmas present:

Suggestion: If you're ready to buy, you can get a well below invoice deal on one of the shrinking stock of left over '09's. They're virtually identical to the '10's, as the 370Z was new in '09. If you get lucky and find one in the color and options you want (even if you have to drive an hour or two to take delivery) you can save a ton of money. I did it and I'm very pleased. The 09 Z is a terrific car and, in my opinion, will be far more reliable over the years than the Camaro. Also, the Z will be certain to hold its value much better than a GM. I've owned a number of Nissans. Although I can't speak to the use of the car for "tracking," I can say that my Nissans have all been very well made and have been trouble free for me throughout the long haul.

Haha, thanks for the support guys! Looks like its going to be a Z afterall. I mean, i've already picked out my wheels hahaha.

as for the 7, the seals are fine, i just had the engine rebuilt a few thousand miles ago...my mileage is above 100g but its still running very well...still low for its age.

Can it go on long drives? Like 6hrs, probably going between 80 to 100mph? Also does nissan have the option for a factory installation of a cooler like they stated in car and driver mag?

I drove mine home on a 7 hour trip, and found it to be quite comfortable. I was probably doing 60-70 most of the time, due to a lot of it being non-highway driving through central PA.

Nissan I believe DOES have a dealership-installed cooler option now. The C&D thing was old and at that time they didn't, however it looks like they finally developed and are selling one. Someone may need to check me on that, though.

Mileage on rotary's has always been terrible. Neat concept, horrible delivery in the end . I was able to get 30ish MPG on my trip btw, and I wasnt being 100% gentle either. I have no doubt it'd do better if I was.

BTW, what are your goals? Nice cruiser? Or eventually just going for gobs of power? 370 will DEFINITELY depreciate better than the Camaro, thats for sure.

Well, im pretty much done with the horsepower thing...i just want a nice, elegant and comfortable cool ride. The only things ill probably change is the exhaust, wheels, and some lowering springs. I dont know though, my modding blood may kick in....

You shouldnt go wrong with the Touring/sport packages then. Even if you just do light mods, you'll be happy - it responds well to the CBE/HFC/Intake mods.
