Nissan 370Z Coupe Receives a “2010 Best Resale Value Award” from Kelley Blue Book

In selecting the latest version of Nissan’s iconic Z®, the editors from Kelley Blue Book’s kbb.com stated:

“Regularly compared to performance coupes and convertibles that would cost you an additional five figures, the Nissan 370Z can be considered a bargain to begin with, which can be an important part of the resale value equation. Redesigned for 2009, Nissan's latest Z® is the most powerful, most fun, most desirable iteration yet. Whether for a coastal cruise or a day at the track, we'd be happy to take one - new or used.”

The 2010 370Z Coupe, which is on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide, is offered in two models, 370Z and 370Z Touring, each available with a standard 332-horsepower 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL) and choice of 6-speed manual transmission with an available SynchroRev Match™ synchronized downshift rev matching system or a 7-speed automatic transmission. The starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price* (M.S.R.P.) is $29,990 USD (370Z 6MT model).

A special 40th Anniversary Edition will be available beginning in spring 2010. It includes unique red leather-appointed seats and red door panel inserts; 40th Anniversary seatback embroidery, floor mats, car cover and exterior badging; premium smoke finish wheels and red brake caliper finish; and an exclusive “40th Quartz” exterior paint color. The 40th Anniversary Package is offered only on the 370Z Touring manual transmission model.

The Z® is also available in a 370Z Roadster model, with fully automatic cloth convertible top; and a NISMO 370Z model, offering 350 horsepower, racing-inspired exterior and interior styling, a specially tuned suspension and unique super-lightweight forged alloy wheels.

i don't believe in resale value, three years from now it will be worth 1/2 of what it is today. regardless of what car it is.

I still see EVO VIII's selling for over 20k, that isnt a true statement. 2nd Gen Supras still sell for over 20, the list goes on, if the demand for the car is high, it will command a good resale, and I have a feeling the 370 is going to be pretty popular in the tuner community for years to come, just the same as the 350.

This sounds like a pile of marketing cr@p - I mean, I think the Z will have a good resale value, but how the hell does KBB know that right now? After all, how many used 370Zs have been resold so far? Probably not very many...

One can get a bad *** 2006 350Z w/40-50K miles for $17-18K right now.
How much did the original buyer paid in '06? more like 30K+ I would say. Now is that good resale value?

Untrue. I bought a Mini Cooper S for $26,200 in October 2005, resold it in March 2009 with 50,000 miles for $19,500. This car also won a KBB Resale Value award, and proved true in the end. Not to say that KBB isn't wrong on the 370Z, just that they could be right...

370's will be a lot different than a 350, there will be a lot less of them

The resale value will depend on how many units are finally made. If it is like the 350Z, the market for resale is going to be crap.

Hopefully the 370 is not going to be made for 6 yrs in a row.
