After 19K km's my Z is still perfect - no issues. Mind you it's the Canadian model so it must be better built for our climate :icon18:!!!
Anyway, I had a nasty bug splat that initially would not come off and was quite noticeable in the clearcoat. But after several washes it seems to have disappeared! I recall another forum member commenting on the same thing a few months back. Is this possibly the 'self-healing' paint? Maybe someone can explain this as I assume all Z paints are the same except for the colour of course. |
I'm going to hijack this thread! What is the vote on best wax?

actually yes it is not very good paint. All paints have become worse and worse trying to make it more "green". The days of lead in paint are gone, but the leaded paint was very very durable.
Also Mercedes uses a higher end paint, its very hard and is really hard to chip, not saying that it won't chip it can just take a lot more of a beating. CeramiClear is the clear coat they use, its a ceramic paint from PPG. All paints are not the same, and they are definitely not all priced the same. |

Interstates and highways are usually where all my problems have come from, there is just no way to avoid flying objects on the roads with any consistency. |
