The one bad thing I have heard about the TTS was some turbo lag with it being a 4 cyl with a K04 turbo (somewhat large). I wonder if having the extra cyl (and Im sure the TT RS is still using a K04) stops some of that lag. If it comes to the US and I had the money I would think hard about it. But I will never have the $$$ for a $60K to $70K car.

Now Nisaan put a SC or turbo in the Z, give it DSG and AWD and now your talkin. Love the body of the 370Z best of all so far from Nissan.

The TTS is a 4 cyl but the TT RS is a 5 cyl. Both use a K04 turbo I think.

nice..took the audi tt's third and highest performer to beat out the z :/
their v10 R8 is still slower than a base GT-R..IMO audi doesnt do that well when it comes to producing performance...the m3 has similar performance to their regular r8..when it comes to German automobiles, Id consider a Porsche or BMW (in the performance aspect)

I dont think they are really trying to make super fast cars just high quality comfortable sports cars that are quick and lux.

No, shaba', that's hardcore economic reality down at Puerto Rico, U.S.A.! That's why I keep telling youse guys to consider yourselves blessed for living in the continental U.S. Our politician$, with few exception$ are douchebag$ that provide the least public services (our roads are like the lunar surface!), but simultaneously impose heavy taxation on us. The new TT actually doesn't look like a chick's car and uses the Audi parts bin. Now I've only driven the VR6 models because they have always been lower maintenance then the turbos. My wife's is a 1.8T has been flashed with some suspension mods and wheels and tires. She loves her car!! I feel it suits her...being a chick.
I've noticed that the folks who talk crap about the TT probably haven't owned it(or even driven it). That's the only real way to do a comparison. Drive them back to back and you'll understand! Also everyone keeps ignoring all the features the TT has that the Z doesn't have! I've notice that the Z is extremely flexy even though I've stiffened up the susp. The stock TT is three times as stiff (0 body flex). I miss all the room I had in the TT compared to the Z (6'3" 230 lbs).
I think the TT styling is better (classy) then the Z. The Z just screams "all business" in the looks department!
And 0-60 times are really not that important when so many cars on the street are within a second of us. I'll never understand the penis size thing!
Now if they import the TTRS and I have an opportunity to purchase through work....hmm...it's all about the dollar. Even though business didn't slow down like I expected! ;)

And you have the torsional stiffness measurements of both cars? From what I have read the Zed is very stiff, so i don't know wehat angle you are coming from?

I can perk that thing up for you, but your Wife may (or may not) need it. I've been designing and building a small group of performance parts for the TT for 8-9 years now.......All my really good car buddies still own TT's....:tup:

your intakes sure are different looking than when I bought one for my MKI. Looks better now.

The only winning aspect of the Z is it's price and reliability. The TTRS has all the rest IMO

Totally agreed. I also looked briefly at the Cayman as well as the TT, and found what you said to be very true - Cars like the Z are just a much better value for the dollar. When you factor in Audi reliability, the TT and the TT RS were just not competitive. I also couldn't get comfortable in the TT.

Interestingly, the only car that I felt was even close to the Z in terms of smiles per dollar was the Mazda MX-5. They can get pricey when you option them out, but even at $28k, it's a hell of a driver's car, despite what others may think.
