I miss my Z
Back in November 2016 my wife and I sold our place and moved. Long story, but it made financial sense and now we're landlords. Bad news is I went from having a garage that fit my nismo and both motorcycles to no garage, street parking on a giant hill, and my beloved Z and the bikes stored at my family's place in Pennsylvania 90 minutes away. There's no effing way I'm keeping any of that outside.
I think I've driven the car maybe a week in total since then and haven't touched the bike at all (my wife rode hers once). Anyway again.

Thought about that. It's hard to beat the price of free storage though. We're supposed to be looking for property where we can build a kick-*** garage.

I can empathize with you to some extent. I miss my Z, and she's parked <50' from where I sleep at night. I stopped driving her as my daily in early December. She's been driven twice since for less than an hour total. I had some recent plumbing issues to deal with in the garage, so she's even sitting outside right now. But Texas weather is different than the NE, and she'll have her spot back as soon as I patch up the gyp board.
A new, kick-ass garage sounds like a good plan

If you build a garage. Make twice the size you think you need. Think 24x24, make it 30x30. Think 30x30, make it 40x40. You'll fill it up pretty quick.

Hopefully you get back to driving her more. One of the reasons I don't want to go too wild with upgrades. Might turn mine into something I don't want to drive every day.

As others have said, build the largest garage you can. I built mine in 2003 (30 x 24) and if I would have made it 25' deep, I could have just pulled the Z to the back and then my wife's car right behind it. Since is is not deep enough, I have to park it parallel with the back wall. It's still in a garage, but is a little bit of a pain putting it on wheel dollies to turn it sideways.

My dad had a garage built. Me and my brother tried to tell him 30x30. Ended up 30x24. Told him 8ft doors. Ended up with 7ft doors. We told him what he wanted wasn't going to be big enough. When the garage was finished. My dad walked in and looked around. Never heard him cuss before. After he looked. He said, this garage ain't f!@king big enough! Me and my brother was rollin'. I'm up to about 40 lbs on the arm.

You guys are killing me. It is hard to think about not driving my Z when I want to. She pretty much a sometimes street driver and mostly a track day beast. I am headed to the track this weekend. This is the best time of year to play in a Z in the southwest. Yep summer can suck but I still can drive or head to higher evaluation.

I need one of those too. Last year's random project was an AR-15 build.

When my first wife was alive. I found a garage with a house over it. Price was good. It was everything I would ever need. 12ft ceiling, enough room for shop area in the garage. The whole thing was Wife didn't like it because it was a garage.
