2018 Z appearance differences?
 

Is it true that the 2018 Z has minor appearance differences from the 2017 and if yes, what are these and how significant are those?

It now has the black nismo headlights and the rear "diffuser" is painted black now instead of the body color. Apparently the taillights are slightly darker as well.

None other than lots of yellow!

The door handle also changed for a darker color instead of the Chrome color.
The biggest changed is of corse the new EXEDY Clutch and the rear hatch switch located in the middle of the two seats.
Now 6 speakers instead of 4 and believe me that makes a huge difference.

sorry i forgot to say....the new color PASSION RED is only avalable in 2018 but not with the Nismo...

In that case, the only major revision to the Z for '18 is the model year number.

Rear hatch switch? Wow. Took 'em 10 years to come up with that.

So I can get a 2018 370Z by only spending $5k at the dealer for the headlights and door handles for my 2009. Nice.

Different style Rays wheels and Bridgestone S007 tires for Sport models. Take a look online for the pricing of those tires...lol. Throttle calibration was changed for 2018 to enhance driveability. The details are spelled out on Nissan’s media webpage.

So can you get the new throttle calibrations and transfer by tune to your old 370z yet?:driving:

It's the opposite on NA miatas - they only have an interior one!

That Passion Red almost made me wait for the 18s, but I just couldn’t handle the BRZ-looking wheels on the Sport models.

If by some miracle there was a plug'n'play hatch switch and harness I would be all over that.

I would still expect this to be a diy. I try to avoid panel removals but I wouldn't hesitate for a release switch. Worse example is probable routing wires thru the trans tunnel and a splice into the existing hatch wiring.

I don't think the pre-2018 models have only 4 speakers. Mine has 6 speakers and a sub-woofer.

You mean the bose system everybody could get since 2009.....

My 13 sport Z only came with 4 speakers, missing the rear two. I’m sure with those, it would have sounded much better.

I def interested in the 2018's "concept of acceleration" changes. This seems like a throttle response improvement that often spoken about with other ecu tunes. After a few searches on dealer ecu flashing I saw a few posts, nothing conclusive but seems like a few have had updated software uploaded by the dealer. However the OP started this as an appearance topic, so I may go with a separate thread.

Another dumb decision by Nissan. Give the Nismo a lil more flair with passion red. Imbiciles.

when you got your Z , were you happy?....now a new model comes up and is like you were ready to upgrade. Be real we love "our" Z as it is a new light button a new handle will not make a difference no disrespect OP but I love my Z and could care less about the new one s they indeed have not made go out and buy one in exchange for what I have :driving:
