Does a Z need to be warmed up in winter?

So, let’s recap: yes, modern cars can be driven in very cold weather almost immediately following start up. But the idea that there’s zero detrimental impact on the car when you do so is ridiculous.

I wait for at least my RPM's drop to 1k and then I feel I'm doing the engine right
:driving:

As per HEK, I wait for fast idle to quit and then go. I'll drive easy for a mile or two before opening up the throttle.

I will let it warm up for a few minutes (until heater starts working) if I'm feeling particularly cold. But that's for me, not the engine.

Edit: That's not just for Zs (I drive a Challenger now) - applies to all modern cars.

When it is in the 20's or below I will let it warm up for 10min or so. I only do it for the Clutch fluid. The clutch pedal acts funky. I may have a clutch master cylinder on the way out. Once the inside warms up I have no issues. Normally I will wait for it come off of fast idle and then go.

The car warms up easier/quicker when its driving so i try to find a good balance depending on the situation.

Modern Vehicle: slightly warm up the car so the RPM's aren't too high, should only take 1-2 minutes, if its extremely cold give it another minute, then drive the car and don't abuse it until its reached sufficient operating temperatures.

Older Vehicle: let it idle warming up a little longer then you would with a modern car

Didnt know that you ditch the 370 already.

Challenger is a nice choice. Very intimidating on the road specially on Black!

Got rid of it a while back because I couldn't find a dealer service department in this area that didn't have their heads up their a$$es.

Meh. It's a nice grocery-getter but nothing like the Z. They do look good in black but I have the doesn't-show-dirt-as-bad grey.

The only reason I ever let the car warm up is because it's too cold for my comfort. As mentioned, the fluids don't warm up unless the car is being driven.

Jesus Christ. You posted a thread with exactly the opposite point of view a few months ago. You argued to the end that warming up your car was harmful. Do you remember that, or is it lost with the rest of your wits to the ravages of time?

Trolls gonna troll. You already asked this same question here. Did your brain freeze completely?

Warming Up Your Car in the Cold Just Harms the Engine

Edit: I'm riding the slow pony today.

Just start and drive it! Lay off the high revs or engine load until the engine oil needle begins to lift.
