By the way, despite all the fancy Alfa stuff, keep in mind that Mopar oils and fluids are recommended. Think of the 4C as a really snazzy Dodge Dart

It's part of the Mopar family now. Just like Ferrari. Waiting to see a 488 a long side a Ram 2500 in the showroom.

The OCI is a calculated value based on empirical data recorded by the ECU. Or whenever I feel like it...

Pretty much like the C7 Corvette after driving it to the dragon in NC my oil change meter drastically went down, had to make me change it 3.3k miles for $100 of 10 quarts of oil. Not bad. For Porsche Cayman asked the dealer how much oil change its $300 one or 2x a year depending on how often and hard you drive. Yayks!!! $300 |

It seems strange to me somehow that the car will tell me when it needs fresh oil, but if this is becoming increasingly common in modern performance cars, I'll just go with it. Fluids aside, a 12K and 36K, every nut and bolt is supposed to be checked and re-tightened, which apparently is not cheap and a knuckle-busting full day's work as a DIY. I think you have to take the rear wheel off to access the air filter... I think I'll just find an Alfa dealership around me who can assist.

My '08 Dodge Ram will tell me that I need an oil change before my mileage is up. The ECU takes in your driving habits, miles, speed, engine load to determine when to change the oil. When the message flashes on my odometer. For me to clear it. I turn the key on, but not to start. Press down on the gas pedal 3 times. Turn the key off. All done.

Weird -- all my pics aren't showing???
Umm... well, here's a bunch again... This car gets a lot of positive attention. You step out of it and people have questions for you. They want a tour. Interestingly, at least for 2015, red and white are more common than black (the launch edition only came in red and white), so this one is a little extra rare. Whatever that means. I love it. It's perfect. Dynoing will be a PITA. It has to go on one with rollers for the front and rear -- apparently the speed sensors get upset and put the car into limp mode if at high speeds the front wheels aren't moving while the rear one's are. AWD dynos are harder to find and much more pricey... I'll most likely do it anyway, 'cause I like data. Swapping out the air filter requires jacking up the car and taking off the rear wheel... It's also a bit of an adventure to add wiper fluid... Still, all worth it. Love this car!

Bet there is a whole bunch of strange things on the 4C.
Read where there was only 409, 4C's was made. Don't know if that was for the US or world wide.

Yeah, it's got a few oddities (a distinct personality?), but the motor and trans are fantastic -- far less high strung than my 2ZZ SC'd Celica GT-S and much more responsive than the Z. It's pretty damn close to perfect. Let's just say I think it's perfect for me Here's my short list of minor complaints: 1. I would like power steering, but my forearms are now used to it (free work out!) 2. I wish the paddles were mounted to the column rather than the wheel and that the gauges and column moved together like it did on the Z. Like the minimal rear visibility, you get used to it. 3. The head unit is pretty terrible. I may actually upgrade that at some point, but overall sound quality is fine and the best sounds come from the engine anyway 4. Pricey to dyno, not many tuning options -- but, really is NOT in need of anything. It comes from Alfa with an extra performance tune that is plenty for a DD. If I never tune it, some part of me will wistfully want to, just because its my nature, but it really doesn't need it at all. That's it. It's PERFECT. Unless a lack of a clutch pedal is a deal breaker or small cars are disliked it is an absolute, true sports car in every sense of the word. Looks, performance, sound, and wow factor.

Thanks
I stand corrected tho: there are a little over 1600 in the US Alfa Romeo 4C US car sales figures Still, that's a pretty tough-to-find car. Feel really lucky to have snagged one
