I take it you've never seen a side mirror hacked off by some dumbass driver. Speaking of dumbasses, when I first got my Expedition a few years back, I was driving on a very tight street and my driver side mirror smacked into a parked Chevy pickup's mirror. Good thing his truck was facing mine, otherwise instead of folding his mirror I would have snapped it right off.
