Do you have any idea what broke or malfunctioned? Also kind of curious if you'd be able to tell if you've had excessive wear on the rear tires. Not trying to fear monger but I don't trust that your car was just test driven. You hear stories all the time about seeing the mechanic out places he shouldn't be in customers cars. Hope all works out.

Update 2. So head mechanic says that the steering angle sensor was not calibrated correctly due to the steering wheel being off center when the previous tech worked on it. Causing the car to think that its is losing traction and going out of control then it trys to correct it. The Mechanic failed to verify the steering wheel was aligned properly and then failed to test drive the car after to verify the repair. After talking with the head mechanic I am told that the service manager has left for the day. Ha! And he will call tomorrow to discuss some compensation. I told them I would give them a chance to try make this right. And I will talk to GM tomorrow.
I’m still really fuckin angry about this whole mess.

No these things do not and should not happen. If it did, I’d raise so much hell that I’d prob get a new Z for compensation.

I read it and it's typical, that's why I work on my own or, if I can't do it myself have a friend help. A buddy of mine worked as a service writer at a Dodge dealer. Told me a story of another writer that took a Viper Black Mamba on a joy ride and wrapped it around a pole.

You need to post the name of the dealership so other people know to avoid it.

Update 3. Still in disbelief! I went to talk to the service manager this after noon. The guy act like he has no idea what I’m doing there. I reminded him he was supposed to talk with me yesterday. He says about what? I really can’t believe this guy. I said you know what forget it I done with you anyway. Im going to talk to the General Manager! He says “ Go ahead, they are just gonna send you right back here.” I said we'll see about that! Luckily I knew just where to find him. Well after talking to the GM for 20 min or so he starts trying to talk down the situation saying well your still alive right?!HA!! WTF, Am I losing my mind here!!! Saying it’s just not possible that I could have died in a car accident due to their mechanics negligence. He tries to say it’s not so terrible what happened but he wants to keep all his customers happy. And he’s gonna look into everything and do his best to make it right. Gonna call me tomorrow. I hope to god he does the right thing at give me some kind of decent reconciliation. Still pissed!

Have you called Nissan Corporate Yet....
I had an incident with a dealership, best to get Corporate involved and start the detail work.... I believe they will generate an incident number or something....

GM sounds as a real a-hole...

See if Corporate will let you get the repairs done at a different dealer. I wouldn't trust these guys to touch my car again.

Reading stories like this reminds me why I am glad to be out of dealers and makes me wonder just how far they will have to tank before real policy changes or regulations happen. Like automotive techs must be certified as a requirement and not just some luxury item dealers want. Similar to how most other trades are HVAC, Electricians etc.. and drop flat rape where pay is based on how fast you cadonthe job and how many short cuts you can take, like not resetting the steering angle sensor in your case and I can tell you first hand it almost never gets done. Any area they can cheat they will and I can't really blame them, it's hard to stay honest after losing your a$$ on a low pay warranty job so have to make up the time somewhere.

One other comment, when you talk to corporate, just be calm and explain what happen... I have found that doing that works best for me...

Ok the more I think about this, the more I think this is BS!!! When you remove the steering wheel, their are only two plugs that need to be disconnected. One being for the airbag, and the other being for the electronics on the steering wheel. That is it. I know this due to installing new steering wheel on my car. I may be wrong about this but I don't think so.

Be very calm and nice to whom ever you talk to. Also if you have not started this yet, start taking note. Names, times and what was said. This may help you out in the future. Also if you find yourself back at the dealership talking to the GM take your phone out and let him know that this is being recorded so that we don't misunderstand each other. By doing this he will have one of two responses to it. Once again Sorry you have to deal with kind of piss poor Customer Service.
