Interior Door Panel on Base differs from Touring?
Ok, just made my Friday night pizza run and stopped by the Nissan dealership on the way to check out the black 370 they got in today. They also have a fully loaded, touring, sports, yellow as well I looked at last week. The door panels are different in the two cars.
The yellow has Touring and Sports (as stated above) and the door panel is a suede material (very nice and sporty looking) The black is base with nothing else...it has the same fabric as the dang seats are made of, which was a huge turn-off for me...didn't really look good at all imo. I'm hoping that the suede door panel is included in the Sports package and not the Touring, because I don't want anything that comes on the touring... Anybody here know what package the suede door panel is included in? |

CRAP!!! Makes sense that it would, but still sucks...Don't know if you all have seen the other fabric, but it just looks cheap to me. Wander how much a new door panel would cost from nissan???

Well it being a stealership as I like to refer to them as, hell I used to be a technician at Clawson Honda over here in Fresno. I guarantee they will be a lot.

It's not a big deal to me. You can get the suede fabric and have someone work on the door panels for you. The cloth material adds a bit more cushion as long as the cloth stuff doesn't get wrinkly.
I'm more upset about not having Homelink Auto-dimming rearview mirror. I wonder how I can get it dealer installed... kinda scary. |

Mine wont be a daily driver, but more less a weekend fun car so I dont need the heated leather, autodimming mirror, etc. The fabric seemed pretty much identical to what was on the seat, almost like a tight fit mesh material in some ways, only (like you said) heavily cushioned.
I could almost guess if you went to nissan to buy the door panels it would cost you about 75% of the amount that the entire touring package would cost...naturally! |

I could care less, I'll take the "taxi cab interior"!

Haha... it's ok. You can always pull off the door panel and give it a makeover. At least you'll be without a Bose system. I tried it, and it wasn't all that great. Plus, I finally found the rear speaker. It looks like 4".

Yea, I've read on here the Boss system isn't that great, and I'm sure 4 speakers is all I need since I usually just listen to the engine in my sports cars instead of music.

I don't know about that system, I have read a lot to the contrary that says it is really good actually. I don't need anything crazy just enough to get me some good tunes, but really I will be listening to the car more than the sterio.

I just come back from my local dealer. They had a "base" model and you are right. The interior was a hugh turn off for me. I cannot believe that Nissan put this interior into this car. It is the same on the door panels as the seats. What are they (nissan) thinking. It reminds me of spandex or panty hose material. Cheap, Cheap, Cheap ! I was sitting in the drivers seat and pinching the material with 2 fingers and pulling on it. Unbelievable ! I will not be getting the "base" model. Sorry, . . . Nissan. . |

Anyways, it's just cloth seat and door material. In fact, the 370Z Touring is the first 2003+ Z I've sat in that has leather. It felt pretty nice, but I already plan on changing out the seats as part of the weight loss program. |
