garage wall protectors
anyone using garage wall protectors for their cars? you know the ones that get attached to the wall so if you or your spouse opens the car door too wide it won't ruin the wall or more importantly the car? I'm looking for something that also looks nice and not one that has adhesive backing to ruin the wall. I wouldn't mind drilling 2 small holes for screws into the studs. thx in advance.

Don't know if this will help or not? I did not want anything on the wall especially since I re-did my garage. Even with my Corvettes I did this and it always worked well. Just keep a microfiber towel in the door compartment and when you exit the car, just put the towel, after you have folded it up a couple of times between the door handle and the wall.

I had these. Put them up in a spot that the door handles hit them. Never had an issue.

I use toolboxes, shelfs, air compressor, table saw, parts cleaner, tires to protect the garage walls.

I've used a foam pool tube, some eye hooks in the ceiling, and light fishing line. Works great, easy to push out of the way, easy to install/remove (no tools required), cheap to replace.

Sounds like my garage. I back in and keep the door away from the gorilla racks. Have to clamp my vise closed to keep the handle above the rear view mirror.

My garage is 38 ft long and 12 ft wide. It's a 5 lbs bag with 20 lbs of crap in it.

A 2' section of 1/2" ID gray plumbing insulation foam over a 2' section of 1/2" PVC pipe, attach to wall with screws whatever suits your fancy. It's a long enough section to give you room for error. I've had the same ones on each side of my garage for 8 years, still like new. Super sleek and great of you have gray walls too!

I had one of those soft foam like grippy fender protectors that you use when working on the engine bay. I never used it for what it was intended and was about to turf it when the idea hit me.I just used two pins that I used for my garage posters to tack it to the wall.

I always go low end. A pool noodle hanging from a string works perfect and cost is like 5 bucks.

I have a garage under my house and there's a big, upright, steel support pole in the middle of it. I wrapped it in a big bath rug (took a while to find a black one and not pink) and that protects open car doors really well.
