Two years later, I think I am better able to control the urge to face on streets. Alas, the only car I find attractive is the 370z. Only other one would be the Infiniti could but it costs more.

In the two years since December 2016 when you posted that? Does time pass differently when you get that close to the finish line of life?

Time passes fast as you get older. Fact that your father and other male blood relatives all went around 75-85, many developing tough age related ailments (eyesight, wheelchair, etc.) , there is a sense of urgency. You see a bucket list and you throw out some you will never get to and others you do as quickly as possible so you can get to as many as possible.

With cars, sure I can put off buying another with the $5k, wait till I save more and in 5 years I can buy a vette or a Porsche but could I get in one at 75? Hell, I can't drive a stick shift anymore because of arthritic condition in my left leg.

You might understand better when a whole lot of folks your age start dying. This year, several musicians my age passed away, Walter Becker (google him) this week.

So, when you get to the point where you feel Death's cold, icy breath on the back of your neck, December 2016 is two years ago? So age effects math?

Wait... let me get this straight. He's got 50+ years of driving experience, but it's only in the last 18 months that he has "been better able to control the urge to race" everyone on the road?

Not to mention he's bought several of these cars, but needs his hand held to figure out if he wants another one with the sport package or without?

It doesn't matter which package he gets... he'll still find something to whine about. And start five different threads about it.

And then sell the car. And then buy another one. Wash, rinse, repeat until OP becomes room temperature.

Seems to be a lifelong pattern--and unlikely to change.

Perhaps I should have linked the thread he started in December for illustration. It is locked, so I hope linking to it isn't against the rules here. Not to say "I told you so," but please note that I told him then that we would see him again in a few months

Time to leave--(Dec 2016)

It'll change, most likely pretty soon going by actuarial tables. Or by his driving habits.
