Z1 Motorsport
Hey Guys, Brand new to the the370 web page just joined right after my purchase of a 370z. Im trying to get a motordyne exhaust and a lot of people in my area recommend z1 motorsport because its the most legit place they know. Is it legit? Or is there a better place for my purchase?

As legit as they come... Ask for Jon Parham if he's available. He's also a very good tuner if you're interested in a custom tune

There is some surprising issues in that thread, to be honest.. but Z1 is a top tier shop and there are far more of us who have never had issues. I've been a fairly regular customer and have had some problems and they've always done an excellent job handling my issues. They are also super knowledgeable and can offer some great guidance.

I just ordered more parts today from Z1..I have only had 1 issue it was taken care of right away!

Welcome to the 370Z Forums and congratulations. The customer service we received from Z1 Motorsports was piss poor. We found parts missing from orders. Over the phone they talked to us like they could careless about us or our business. If you search you will find there are a lot of different vendors you can give your business to it's your choice.

I guess I'll chime in. I ordered their front upper and rear lower race version arms on June 28th. I ordered them while the front upper's were out of stock and I was fine with waiting.
Their policies state that I would've been contacted within 48 hrs with a ball park eta and I could ship parts separately (costs more) or ship everything when the out of stock part arrived. None of this was done. I did not receive an email about the eta so called a few days after my order to see if they had any idea, I was told a few weeks which was fine by me. 9 business days after my order I get a shipping notification. Sweet. Since I am overseas it was sent to my freight forwarder. Finally last week (shipping time to me has nothing to do with Z1) I get the box and it's small. They shipped the rear arms only without contacting me. Strike 2. So I call to find out about the front uppers (at which time they have updated the part to being back in stock on their website), I was told they shipped on the same tracking number as the rear arms I received. After explaining they sent the rears only they confirmed and then let me know they only have the street version and the race version I ordered isn't in stock. I reluctantly opted for the street arms since their eta for the race version was "a long time". I send an email stating my disappointment in the process to which all I got was "our website doesn't show live inventory, do you want the street arms?". A simple "yeah we dropped the ball on this one" somewhere in their reply would've made a difference. In the end I got the street arms shipped out but I can't say I'll be a patron of theirs again. |

I think it's time for the cat to come out the bag. I've had a good experience up until this point. After conducting multiple data logs back and forth (tuned remotely December 2016), I'm done. I was told the car wasn't detonating, but there is no reason to remove timing unless there was knock. In addition to that, a recent oil analysis found an increase in lead levels that wasn't previously elevated. Blackstone had deducted that it shouldn't have been this way considering how the car is used.
Yes, you can call Jon, but it's hit or miss. I understand he can be busy since he's either on the dyno or taking phone orders. I've waited patiently for quotes in regards to parts and service. Fast forward a month and no response. In addition to getting a service quote, I felt that I was being rushed off the phone with one of their reps. You're better off talking to Russ because he'll take the time to explain things thoroughly. |
I have bought many items from Z1. Usually no issues and very good customer service also until recently. I bought their FUCA what a nightmare. They refunded my money and sold me SPL at a good price to replace their defective product. So I made another purchase the diff bushing removal tool a different cover and white line bushings, oil etc. Arrived with parts missing for the removal tool, not fun finding that out after removing exhaust, diff etc to find parts were missing. I sent a email stating I was missing parts NO RESPONSE. I'm done with Z1, It's too bad they make some good parts but customer service has gone dooown hill.
