Question about Dealership Sale..
Hello, so I have a few questions. I recently decided to trade my 2012 370z 7AT for a 2017 370z M6. They looked over the car yesterday, and we went through all the paperwork of applying for financing etc. Well last night it hailed and I took quite a bit of damage to the car. I received financing today and brought the Z to the dealership. They never said anything about the dents so I assumed whatever. We preceded with the sale and finalized everything. I recieved a text two hours after purchase with them requesting for me to file a claim on the car because of the hail. Is this still my responsibility and If I didn't file could they take the car back? Thanks for any and all help!

Once you traded in they are responsible for checking vehicle condition when they received it. I wouldn't worry about it. Everything is finalized it's their car now.

I am pretty sure anything bad happening to any dealership is a good thing. I'd call them and tell them you will be willing to buy the car back for $150, then email them a **** pic.

Nope. Insurance doesn't go up for comprehensive claims.

Nissan can take you to small claims court for destruction of private property, along with this it can go are your insurance record as such. I would personally speak to an attorney before proceeding or at the very least speak to a good claims representative with your insurer.
Not reporting damage claim and selling your car can be trialed as fraud in some cases and states. The transaction has been documented and witnessed by multiple people when you came in to do the trade and the date of transaction. I personally wouldn't avoid it. But if you are, be sure you know* the law. So contact some form of advisers rather than listening to your family and forum members. I can tell you 100%, if you're in California or New York, you'd 100% lose this battle. Last edited by MaysEffect; 08-17-2017 at 12:18 AM. |

I feel like this situation could get really ugly. I doubt the stealership will let you off easy on this one. Before thinking about hiring a lawyer, talk to your insurance company. If your insurance is willing to cover the damage without having your rate increase, I would honestly just pay the $500 and end it there.
But if you know for certain and you can prove to the stealership that the exchange of title was complete and sold as is, then technically you have nothing to worry about. But the stealership might still sue you. |

Let say the tables were turned and he test drives and/or inspects the vehicle he want to purchase and then signs the purchase agreement and then soon after he drives it off the lot he soon realizes that someone beat the s**t out of it even though it was perfect before signing the purchase order. This person knew what's up and only asking for advise because he knows he's in the wrong.
