I don't think there is any difference between the US and CA models for exhaust.

Maybe he was from California. They have strict emission standards over there.
You can see it on You Tube when he puts the AAM short pipes on either his red 370Z ( that's before he did it on his new Nismo ) and the Nismo.
Both cars had the same muffler, mine has two small cans and they are straight pipes, I will still look better today.

The exhaust is the same, only slight length difference between the nismo and non nismo model. I have the short tails and would recommend them if you like a loud system and can bear some drone. Make sure you check out sound clips as the short tails are available resonated and non resonated.

I will double check today, I just saw the guy removing the big muffler on his Z to put the short pipe kit and I don't have this big muffler on mine and I got the sport package.

I saw you're from Wayne Gretsky's native town,I went down there last year to buy a guitar amp from Georgetown.
What do you mean by resonated or non resonated ?
I'm used to loud pipes,I built a Cobra kit car and it is straight pipes from a V-8, you want to talk loud exhaust,I can take it .

Well I was not aware of your preferences some people don't like the drone that comes with the loud especially highway driving. I have the short tails only but just ordered test pipes and will be ordering the AAM S line mid pipe next so I should be straight piped soon .

Is it that loud ?
I never drive the Cobra on long rides but if I have to i put earplugs because it would be tiring but are the short pipes that loud when you sit in,
I don't know, does it bother you.
I don't drive my Z on the highway, when we go on a trip we use my wife's car, more a car for touring than the Z.

Did you get them shipped. Can I ask how much it cost total. I have an address at the UPS store across the border and wonder If it is worth the trip to pick them up across, I would just pay the taxes + my gas If I do that.
Cheers !

I had ordered the JWT pop charger and the AAM short tails non resonated titanium tips at the same time from Z1performance, cost me $1200 and change shipping and all. Shipping was not much might be easier and less hassle for you to order but you can check it out on Z1performance.com.

The nismo and non nismo model exhaust difference is in the length and mid pipes. I have a Canadian nismo and had the big and heavy muffler(one can) to remove to install the short tails. You should post a picture of what you have, sounds like you may have an aftermarket system. I could be wrong but pretty sure all stock Z's come with the one can muffler with the dual tips from the factory.

I'm totally sorry, I don't know what I was looking at but I was not looking much. It looks the same than US cars, I saw the big muffler right in my face, how could I miss it, so the AAM stuff should work, duh !

[WTB] Aftemarket Catbat / Axleback Exhaust

My recent Canadian experience, i went through all you said.

I did consider everything from simple washer mod, ebay axleback /catback, AAM short tails , and Stillen and F.I catback.
I ended up with Invidia Gemini, and am still happy with my choice.

One thing to note is i was looking for a quiet system; no drone and not too loud.

1. I crossed Stillen & F.I. off my list, only because it would be around 2.5k CAD.
There is no official distributors in Canada, so the price almost gets doubled when they get here. invidia gemini is around $900 in the states and I paid $1345 CAD tax included; reasonable considering the exchange rate.
2. Ebay axleback / catback exhuast (J2, Topspeed); they got fitment issue, and stick out too much (beyond the bumper) for non nismo 370z.
3. AAM Short tails Resonated & Non-resonated; way too loud for my taste. They are basically muffler delete, and will have some drone.
4. Washer Mod: People have reported decrease in performance; throttle response, and torque at low rpm

Invidia Gemini will be for you IF
1. you are not looking for performance gain -> if so, look into F.I. (forum favourite) or Stillen (not too loud, but heavier with similar HP gain)
2. Looking for a slight increase in sound volume
3. Not loud system, you can make it louder with HFC, but people have reported some issues when mated with HFCs or test pipes.
