Clear auto bra?

If you have put this on your Z can you tell me how it worked out?

Looks
Protection from rocks / bugs?
Maintenance of protective clear bra?

I am considering doing this to our just purchased (used) 2017 Z.

I've never used them but I've seen many age in a horrible way. The ones I saw turned yellow and cracked. Low quality version? I don't know but I stay away from them.

It depends on the film. Don't go cheap.

Xpel ultimate does not change colour and is self-healing. I am happy with mine.

Also use the search, there have been plenty of threads on the subject.

I have used the clear 3M on several of my present and past cars. With today's new products and improved chemical technology, yellowing may be a thing of the past. Wash and clean the same as the rest of the car.Yes,stones may damage it,if they have sharp corners or edges and have a bit of velocity behind them.I've had the 3M take a couple of rock hits, but didn't damage the car,in my case.:tiphat:

You are correct coolboy, there are a lot of threads on this topic. I will review them and get an idea.

Thanks,

I put the Xpel on my Z several years ago. Good investment. Yes the film may tear slightly, but protects the paint. The film is easily replace in a few years. Larger items may still leave a ding.

I got a serious rock chip on my hood within the first couple months of owning the Z and it drove me absolutely nuts, so my first "mod" was covering 1/3 of the hood, full front bumper and front fenders with Xpel Ultimate. It cost a decent amount, but you honestly can't beat the peace of mind it will bring you. Plus (especially nice in the summer months around here), you can just wipe off the bug guts from the clear bra with a wet paper towel.

A lot of guys will say that it's better to do the full hood but I've had no regrets only doing partial. The line is barely noticeable.

I have XPel ultimate and am very pleased with it.

Get it installed by a professional that is licensed and it will come with a warranty

Don't cheap out if you're gonna do it

Another vote for Xpel. Should be your first mod.

Thanks for all the comments. I am going to do it. Have to look at next couple of months as I had a Kenwood Unit put in with navigation, satellite, etc.

The Xpel protection I added to my Z was some of the best money I spent. In my book, it's a must if you want to keep the car looking great.
