Yeah, I'm probably to going to have to buy a full or partial body harness for the dash to replace what i need and i'm not THAT committed. Maybe when i decide to replace the top portion of the dash I'll do it. I already have the PS switch sensor in the box full of parts that go with the front-motor maintenance (water pump thermostat, hoses, gallery gaskets, etc). Again, I kinda don't want to break the seal of that motor if nothing is wrong right now.

Finally got some necessary maintenance done on the Z.

-new RTV gasket on lower oil pan.
-3 new O rings on the oil filter relocation adapter
-rerouted 6AN power steering line directly to rack (removed OEM hardline)
-replaced oil temp sensor
-refilled with Castrol Edge 5w40 Euro Blend

Installed new "Z" dipstick handle (had to destroy the old yellow one to install this from Zspec) Also installed the Zspec titanium engine clips in red, which look great and make for easier removal!! Make sure to install them correctly so they hold. (I had to reinstall most of them) Then went to cars and coffee in Des Moines, which was insanely full this day!!

Finally put on the illuminated kick panels I bought a few years ago. Used the same occasion to run the power for the Hudway Drive HUD.

Joined the Kickstarter May of Last year - and just got it. HUDWAY cautioned me about dash compatibility when I told them the front sits low since the Z has the instrumental panel on the steering column. It works fine, just needs a shim. Right now I have a cardboard wedge wrapped in duct tape wrapped in electrical tape between the mount and the gauge pod with the lip centered on the tach. Once I get it dialed in, I'll sticky it down (probably with two sided velcro from the wings and front rather than their provided 3M) and make a post. Getting OBD-2 from the included BT dongle, too.

The parts box finally paid off today. I was wiping down the engine bay and punctured the coolant overflow tank. 30 minutes later, it's like nothing happened.

I also thought something was wrong with my fuel pressure. It was reading low on the gauge, but i checked the data logs and everything was fine. Turns out the extreme heat evaporated the fluid that USED to be in the Tomei gauge haha. I'll take any recommendations on replacement gauges if anyone has one they like.

Speedhut gauges. I have 3 of them. Very happy with them. You can set a low and high pressure warning on them.

ahh, i was hoping they were under-the-hood gauges, but if i do that, i might as well just wire a sensor into my dash.

I looked around and Aeromotive is reputable so i will give them a try! down the line, i'll do the wiring to the Haltech. It's just too damn hot for me to want to mess with it.

Just ordered OEM V1 Nismo kit (except the wing) and wheels. Converting wife’s V2 into a V1. Wish me luck.

Good labor day weekend. Took the Z out to Thunderhill Raceway. Car feels great and I was able to PB. The wavetrac lsd is def better than stock. Feels like the car has more hp. I am looking forward to more seat time with this car.

Default What did you do with your Z today V (ON TOPIC DISCUSSION ONLY)

Been tracking down power steering leaks for a while now. Finally decided to just rebuild the system.

New low-pressure 3/8” hose and constant-tension clamps installed from cooler to reservoir, and from rack to cooler. I ditched all the hardline and various connections and ran a single 3/8” hose from rack to cooler.

I’m having a crimped line made at a hydraulic shop tomorrow to replace my DIY 6AN line for the high pressure line. I’m also running a single hose for high pressure, directly from pump to rack with a Chase Bays steering rack 6AN adapter fitting.

Hoping that I can avoid leaks in the future by having a simpler system with less connections/junctions. I plan to upgrade the cooler in the future, but that’s a super easy install for this winter.
