New set of Carbotech XP8 brake pads installed. What should have been a 45 min job turned into a front caliper rebuild because I let one of the old sets of pads wear down to the backing plate

As a result a couple of the boots were torn. Had to resurface the back face of the rotor and went ahead and did new seals and bleeder valves. As a side note, I found it was plenty easy to do the rebuild without taking the caliper halves apart and it was easier to put the boot on the piston first and then tuck the boot and ring into the gap around the piston (as opposed to installing the boot and ring into the caliper and then trying to slide the piston down through the boot).

For anyone interested, here's an example of what NOT to do with your brakes
