Thought I was bad. 5,000 miles, 13 states in 3 weeks. Takes forever to go through Kansas. Have nightmares about that state. Oklahoma and the way they have their toll roads.

Crossing the state of Texas is the worst in the lower 48 as much of it there is nothing special to see but desert and then you add in New Mexico and shot me now when traveling east. Traveling the length of California also takes for ever but there is always some real cool places to stop and visit.

because all the highways run f-ing north and south.

WTF

I personally avoid anything east of Houston when driving. Mississippi gets a hell no from me. Thankfully I have no reason to travel to THOSE states over there anymore.

I will only transit Kansas at night, and not on the interstate. Get up to 120 between hamlets, slow down to pass through, rinse wash repeat.

I do like how OK mailed me a warning for blowing a toll.

I can sympathize, and I live in Kansas....

10 to 12 hours to Denver is the pits, when in that same time span, I can be in Dallas....and almost halfway to Austin... depending on traffic in DFW.....

They don't accept IPass or EZPass. Only their bootleg Texas/Kansas/Oklahoma pass. Think it's called the Dust Bowl Pass.

Depending on what part of Colorado we are going to or coming from. We will either take I80 or I70. Most times, it's I70. The one time coming home on I70 in Kansas. Got the bright idea of not going on the toll section of I70 on the eastern side of Kansas. So we let Garmin re route the trip. Spent 3 days taking a round about way around the toll road. All of that to save a few bucks. Spent more on fuel then tolls in the motorhome.

I use PhotoBlocker spray on my plates. The stuff works! Used to get tolls in the mail from Colorado. We travel on E470 a lot. Sprayed my plates, and no more tolls in the mail. Been going on for 3 years now.

We was going to Colorado one time on I70 with a new Garmin. For us, it's a straight shot on I70. But for some reason, in Indianapolis. The new Garmin routed us north on I65N to RT32W. 2 lane road all the way into Colorado. Talk about Mayberry towns. All the towns we came into had one intersection. On each corner of the intersection was a bank, gas station, mom&pop diner, food store. The road going through each town was called Main St.

I'm fine with driving through Kansas. Much better than Oklahoma imo.

My wife absolutely hates driving through Kansas. She bitches about it so much that I have pledged to bury her in Kansas! I've tried to convince her that it will be more convenient for friends and relatives to visit her there as the geographic center of the lower 48 is in Kansas. I've promised to pick a spot near there for her
