Stopped by my Old Man’s garage and knocked out a few things I’ve had on my to do list:

- Bled clutch fluid; was original on 37k miles and looking grimey. I didn’t go with anything fancy, just OEM equivalent
- Readjusted Motordyne Shockwave; had loosened up and was starting to clang on the crossbrace
- Installed Nismo suspension; was laying around for a few months and I finally gave it a go

Always fun to put work into the ride. Extra fun when it’s with the guy that got me into cars and Zs in the first place!

Didn’t get time to install the new MD 5” burnt Ti tips....

I brought my Z into the shop and performed a under hood and under vehicle inspection. Check and corrected all of the fluids including each cell for the battery. Set tire pressure to specification and changed my oil and drained and filled my cooling system. I also changed my engine air filters and my cabin filter. I used all OEM fluids and parts.

For those of you that are nervous about getting air in the cooling system, don't be. Once you close the drain valve, open the air bleed plug/valve on the left top corner of the radiator. Slowly fill the radiator until coolant starts to come out of the air bleed plug/valve. Then, install the plug and continue to fill the radiator until coolant is above the upper hose where the radiator cap is. Install the radiator cap. Also ensure the coolant bottle is filled between the minimum and maximum lines.

Start the car with the coolant bottle cap off. Let the car run until operating temperature is achieved and make sure your fans come on and that your thermostat opens up by feeling the lower hose. Install your coolant reservoir cap after making sure the coolant bottle is filled within specification. Drive your vehicle for a few miles and then come back and check your coolant reservoir and add coolant as needed.

I will drain and fill my coolant when I do my next two oil changes. This should get out all of the old coolant from the system. My Z is at 50K miles. I bought her brand new. I will be also installing new PCV valves and spark plugs when I change my oil next time as well. Maintenance is the key.

I'm late to the game, installed the z1 intakes. LOVE the sound!!! I don't understand why the sound isn't discussed enough, it's just a night/day difference, a lot louder than I expected

Install was easy except I forgot about one thing: The STUPID bolt that holds in that rectangular plastic piece from the stock inlet (by the radiator where you slip the z1 hose through, most people trim this section). Wish I'd paid closer attention to the videos online. One thing I Found: It didn't seem like you really needed to take the whole bumper off, just undo the sides, and top, and pull it back a bit.

Not sure on the whole power aspect...so will need to drive more, but I did hammer it in 1st to 2nd, and it seemed to move a little hastier...

I picked up an RJM rev 2.1 clutch pedal from MikeUCFL and installed it this afternoon. For being such a simple process it was such a pain in the *** working under the dash with long arms. My hand looks like a cat attacked me.

But it's done now, and the difference is night and day. It feels like the way a clutch pedal should feel.

Finally a day with no rain and above avg temps. Thought I might drop one of these in, wasn't too bad besides running into an issue here or there. Seat belt indicator remained off and didn't have to program.

I cracked the lens cover for the light bulb on the visor when I put LEDs in. I want to say that was in 2013 (so going on 6 years lol). Still haven't replaced it. I don't even think the visor has been flipped down once since then.

Suggestions for best way to crack these things? My wife has the most annoying habit of flipping down the visor to do something makeup related just as I am needing to turn/veer right in traffic. Totally blocks my vision. She also apparently has severe hearing loss in her left ear and the world's worst short-term memory when I kindly ask her not to do that.

Finally had Evo-R front lip installed (painted the sides myself) and put in a Nismo Recaro driver's seat.
