I just buy a sheet of 2 inch pink styrofoam insulation and cut it in 4 pieces... I park on that. Works for me. Originally Posted by Darkmann Car has

Both cars have low profile summer Z rated tires with no less that 90% tread. While the Z32 was bopping and bouncing (hard to drive over 60 mph), the Z34 was smooth. I was really impressed and am ordering a set for the Z32.

Busy day(s) ahead! Basically all fluids, supercharger oil/filter, air filter, and street pads to swap in for the carbotechs.

I've been busy the last week or so:

First, I installed new Michelin PS4s, 305/30 in the rear and 265/35 in the front.

I went ahead and purchased the R7 along with a Blendmount. Install took less than a half-hour. This thing has saved my bacon a few times.

My 21-year old son, who still enjoys spending time with his old man, helped me install my door door handle covers and hood. For additional safety, we went ahead and installed a set of Quik-Latch QL-38-LP/BP Lockable hood pins.

My brother had the same z (stock). One of the best gen/combo IMO. Love the mods and happy to hear your kid helped you with them!

BTW...what's the rj11/45 connection for on the radar?

Agreed! The two tone V1 nismos are my favorite Z. I’d love to upgrade to one of those one day.

Yeah, I wish he still had his so we could both have nismos the only thing I thought it was lacking were the recaros. The lack of tech package could easily be fixed with an aftermarket unit, and the chrome headlights have several options to black out.

Geez....I think I have to do the door handle cover on the wife's car now. Which vendor did you buy the handle cover from?

Also, great if you would comment on the fitment. I've heard many complaints CF handle covers being a little off on sizes, and some custom touches needed. It's been a deterrent for me.

Installed a new driver side door lock actuator today. For some lovely reason the inner door panel was riveted to the window track assembly unlike the other side which I have done. So, I just took off the two lower left hand bolts and bent the dog sh1t out of it in order to gain access to the cable that goes to the door handle and the wiring harness that connects to the door lock actuator.

It sure was fun to snake the old one out and to snake the new one in. I broke the rear window glass sash so I'll be buying a new one from Nissan soon and replacing that since I'm the biggest anal bead on the string.

The inner panel was riveted on both of my doors. I just drilled them out.

I'll do that next time I have to take apart this area of the door again. My drill is broken.

In the next couple of weekends I'll be installing a new rear main seal, pilot bushing, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and csc. Should be fun times doing the job on jack stands. All OEM parts will be used.

Last week I started getting some shop quotes to install my aftermarket parts and do some maintenance work on my Z. I have been using Hill's Garage (they are great), but they don't have an alignment system, so I've been trying to find a shop that has one and can do all the work while the car is there rather than bouncing around multiple shops. I was surprised to see how much the quotes varied (installing the rear diff bushings is expensive af)! Today I decided to go with Kinetic Autoworks. Dave was very communicative, the shop is familiar with Zs/Gs so he helped walk me thru some things, and their quote was reasonably priced. Some shops just don't pick up, or they get back to you days later. I'm sure they're busy, idk.

I have the following things to be done: CBE, FUCAs, rear camber arms and toe bolts, poly rear diff bushings, clutch fluid and diff fluid flush, and alignment. Lastly, I'll need to go back to Hill's for an EcuTek tune, and I'll finally be done my project (I did some other things prior)! I'll be sure to update back on here once everything is done with a list of all the modifications. Hopefully I have a positive experience with this new shop.

People seem to laugh when I say I'm about to complete my project lol. I get what they're saying, but I had to draw the line somewhere and actually have other responsibilities! I definitely learned a lot more about my car though (and made some mistakes along the way) which was great.

I had nothing but issues with the vendor and won't mention them - I'll take the high road. I can share that the door handle covers were not plug-and-play. The outer covers fit fine, but the inner door handle pieces required some modification to fit properly. The process wasn't difficult, but it was time consuming because I had to sand, test fit, sand some more, etc.
