Installed a new driver side door lock actuator today. For some lovely reason the inner door panel was riveted to the window track assembly unlike the other side which I have done. So, I just took off the two lower left hand bolts and bent the dog sh1t out of it in order to gain access to the cable that goes to the door handle and the wiring harness that connects to the door lock actuator.

It sure was fun to snake the old one out and to snake the new one in. I broke the rear window glass sash so I'll be buying a new one from Nissan soon and replacing that since I'm the biggest anal bead on the string.

The inner panel was riveted on both of my doors. I just drilled them out.

My brother had the same z (stock). One of the best gen/combo IMO. Love the mods and happy to hear your kid helped you with them!

BTW...what's the rj11/45 connection for on the radar?

Agreed! The two tone V1 nismos are my favorite Z. I’d love to upgrade to one of those one day.

You use the RJ11 to hardwire the detector to the mirror.

Yeah, I wish he still had his so we could both have nismos the only thing I thought it was lacking were the recaros. The lack of tech package could easily be fixed with an aftermarket unit, and the chrome headlights have several options to black out.

Last week I started getting some shop quotes to install my aftermarket parts and do some maintenance work on my Z. I have been using Hill's Garage (they are great), but they don't have an alignment system, so I've been trying to find a shop that has one and can do all the work while the car is there rather than bouncing around multiple shops. I was surprised to see how much the quotes varied (installing the rear diff bushings is expensive af)! Today I decided to go with Kinetic Autoworks. Dave was very communicative, the shop is familiar with Zs/Gs so he helped walk me thru some things, and their quote was reasonably priced. Some shops just don't pick up, or they get back to you days later. I'm sure they're busy, idk.

I have the following things to be done: CBE, FUCAs, rear camber arms and toe bolts, poly rear diff bushings, clutch fluid and diff fluid flush, and alignment. Lastly, I'll need to go back to Hill's for an EcuTek tune, and I'll finally be done my project (I did some other things prior)! I'll be sure to update back on here once everything is done with a list of all the modifications. Hopefully I have a positive experience with this new shop.

People seem to laugh when I say I'm about to complete my project lol. I get what they're saying, but I had to draw the line somewhere and actually have other responsibilities! I definitely learned a lot more about my car though (and made some mistakes along the way) which was great.

I spoke too soon lol I need a diff fluid flush (figured I'd do this while I'm at the shop anyway) and the eccentric lockout kit for the rear (recommended by Frank at Hills). This is a key difference between a good shop and not so good shops. Frank was the only one who told me that I needed the lockout kit if I wanted to do it properly. Also shows their experience on the Z/G platform.

Also, I decided not to go with Kinetic Autoworks. I looked a little more into their reviews and found some really suspicious things. I'll just stick with Hills and try to find an alignment shop after everything is complete. Finding a good shop, that's relatively close, is hard!

Installed some used knee pads that were less scratched than the ones i had, a new center console with a working lid, and a used rear cargo cover! I love those OEM parts!

Man I must have missed it. I have a bunch on interior parts and upholstery from my 2010 silver Nismo. Most in pretty good shape.

aw man!

Though i think the Nismo has red stitching on a ton of those parts right? that would clash with the rest of my car i think.

I am looking around at options for an OEM base/sport bumper though.... i may need to just buy a new one and get it paint matched

Since I’m still waiting on blower upgrade before going boosted (now this fall), decided to order new wheels to tie me over this summer: 18” Enkei RS05-rr’s in 9.5” (+22) / 11” (+16). Will be mounting 275/40 DW06 in front and Toyo TQ 315/35 out back.

Default General maintenance day...

New shoes being mounted, balanced and aligned. Clutch fluid flush. K&M air filters cleaned and oiled. Oil cooler flushed and oil change. Maybe brake pads, waiting on the inspection.

Just rolled over 34,000 miles, is there anything else I should look for or do?

Recently saw someone post a diff fluid change video at 17k miles and it was disgusting. If you haven't done that yet, wouldn't hurt.
