It's really not that big a deal. I used to hypermile and run the stock Toyo tires on my 2010 Nissan Cube at 61 psi when I was driving 120 miles daily. They would get up to about 64-65 psi at most in the summer. Not to mention that they still maintained full contact patch on the road, excellent traction in the rain and wore perfectly even for the 55k+ miles I put on them. It was Bridgestone tires after that and those lasted 60k+ miles, also at 61 psi.

I pulled my GTM oil pan and reinstalled the coolant hardlines that go to the OEM Oilcooler. Going to finish putting the cooler back in tomorrow.... Turns out the thing made a pretty big difference.

Small difference in bringing the oil up to temp, big difference in oil temps warmed up. I took it off in january and it hadn't really made much difference until the summer really started going here in FL. Last weekend I took a road trip to south florida and cruising steady at 90 or so the oil would temp would level off at a solid 260 - outside temp as reported by the car was only 87 degrees. After I get the car back together Ill do a similar test to see exactly how much better it gets.. but I never had much issue in the summer prior to removing it.
One thing to keep in mind is my car is strictly a street car and doesnt see any kind of track time.

Scored a box for only $75 bucks yesterday. So I threw an old sub in I had sitting around. I'm pleased with the results. Now I need a nice component set....

I just did an oil change and the first diff fluid change since my OS Giken install. Diff had 75w90 Motul fluid. It now has 75w140 fluid with some friction modifier. It was needing to be changed. It appears I will need to change it every 10k.
Motul 75w90 is Green. Motul 75w140 is Blue. This is how you tell. Last edited by Spooler; 08-28-2017 at 12:02 AM. |

I let the dealer do my last oil change out of convenience since the car was already there, and I think they tried to take off my magnetic drain plug with a sawZall ... I guess they didn't have a 17mm socket laying around the shop
Did an oil change yesterday and put on a new magnetic drain plug
