If you constantly keep running on fumes you might have an issue. Aslong as fluid is in the tank and being sucked by the pump it should keep it cool. A pump doesn't know the difference if there is a full talk or quarter as long as theres enough in there to do its job. Its the same story with any related pump. If you are pumping nothing you're gonna overheat
